Birthday Cake and Blog Candy!

Happy Birthday to my Baby! She is 15 years old today!

We will celebrate and open gifts after church. I am excited that her grandparents will get to celebrate with her -- that hasn't happened since she was like 2! They live in our town now, so we see them often!
My daughter is a great photographer -- very artsy -- so we got her Photoshop Elements 6 for one of her gifts. I hope she will have fun with it. So in her honor, instead of posting a card I made (you can see her birthday card if you scroll down a few days), I am going to post some of her photographs, including a few of herself that she has taken.

Today is also the birthday of Solomon, the little boy from Ghana that we sponsor through World Vision. If you are interested in changing the life of a child, please click here and read how you can help!

And now for the Blog Candy! In honor of my daughter's and Solomon's birthdays, and to pay it forward for the blog candy I have won this week, I am giving away several goodies, including an unmounted retired fun Stampin' Up! stamp set! To be eligible to win, all you have to do is leave a comment on this post by Monday, March 10 at 9 PM CST, telling me what your favorite birthday gift has been! I will choose a random winner Tuesday morning. Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Judy... not only a beautiful daughter, but such a talented photographer!! She will go so far... Happy Birthday to her!!

My favorite Birthday present? Well since my birthday is on Christmas, the best will have to be born on the same day as our Lord, but really, in todays world and war, and with my dh being in the military, every birthday he is home to spend it with me and the boys is truly the best present.

  2. My favorite bday present...hmmmmmmm...

One year, my brother who was a lot younger than me...made over this industrial mirrow that he found. Split some old garden hose for the edges...covered that with black felt. Then in read gingham, cut out "I love" and then an arrow that points into the mirror.

I have it on the shelf up above the washer/dryer. I love looking at it and remember that I am loved! By my own baby brother!

Happy bday to your DD. Have a fun celebration. I love the music. Now I won't know which set of songs to listen to...yours or mine! haha

I think one of my special birthday gifts is when I was in high school when I received a camera, a Pentax K1000.

  6. HAppy B-day to your beautiful DD! Thanks for the chance to win such awesome blog candy!

To tell the truth, nothing really jumps out at me. My Birthday is right after Christmas and New Year's so I'm usually just ready to spend a nice evening with just my DH. We go out to a nice romantic restaurant for dinner. Sometimes a movie instead, and I make sure its some kind of chick flick or period type movie that DH normally wouldn't want to go see but has to cuz its my B-day.

  10. Happy birthday to both your daughter and Solomon! 15...scary!

My fav gift has to be the ones my DH worked so hard to get the year we were first married...he spent a whole week (since he had the week off and I didn't) buying me little things in the hopes I would be happy with them!

  11. My favorite birthday gift came on my 40th birthday. My twin brother moved home after living out of state for several years. The day of our birthday my husband and sons took me out to dinner and in walked my brother and asked if he could sit down. I was so surprised! It was a wonderful birthday for both of us.
I hope your daughter's birthday turned out to be as special as mine was.

  12. Wow. What an amazingly talented photographer you daughter is. Those are stunning pictures.

Hmm, my favourite present? Every year for our birthdays my family and I have gone out for dinner, opened presents, ate cake and celebrated together despite not living together. This year however, I no longer lived in the same city so I didn't think this would happen. However, my family all came down and surprised me and we ended up following the same tradition. Sounds corny, but it was such a treat since I've been homesick!

  21. Happy Birthday to your daughter!!My favorite present was from my hubby, he bought me a John Deere Gator! I am a big gardener and he wasn't home when it was delivered, and I thought it was mistake, but the dealer that dropped it off told me my hubby bought it for me, and when he got home I was already driving it...it has a dump on it, so all the weeds just "dump" out, but he also bought me a cuttlebug..ahh what a choice!!
