Hope for Leanna....

It's Never to Late

to hope

Hope is part of our life force.
Never surrender hope.
We know life comes in cycles.
And an upturn can be just around the corner.
Hope helps us struggle through the desperate times.
It guides us through the dark.

"Hope well and have well." -- Proverb

This card uses the colors from today's SCS color challenge:
Apricot Appeal
Cameo Coral
Mellow Moss
Creamy Caramel

I had to throw a little blue in there for the clouds and ocean~

My puppies are Creamy Caramel! The boats are watercolored using MM and AA, with CCoral as an accent color on the larger ship and the girl's dress. My sentiment is made to look like a porthole. There is Liquid Applique on the clouds.
This card is for Leanna, a little girl suffering from Leukemia. Read about Leanna HERE and send her a card!

This is also a challenge card with my some of my online friends -- we had to use a *girl* on our card and also this sketch from Stacy, which I turned. Hit refresh if you don't see the sketch.

The close-up picture shows the puffiness of the Liquid Applique. I love that stuff! The clouds were stamped on Vanilla, cut out and then the LA applied and heated with my heat gun. I attached them to my card with a Glue Dot.
Stamps: Boatloads of Love, Loads of Love Accessories
Paper: Cameo Coral, Bazzill Scalloped and Textured Coral, Very Vanilla, Apricot Appeal, Mellow Moss
Ink: above plus Basic Gray, Bashful Blue
Accessories: circle punches, HPH, metal snaps, liquid applique (thanks Stacy!), aqua brush, sponge dauber, hand-cut cloud stencil, Wasabi stitched ribbon
Techniques: watercolor, sponging

Many years ago (like about 15) a friend sent me a little piece of odd-shaped thin cardstock that she had hand-cut that I was supposed to make clouds with. It is about 3 x 3 inches, and cut very differently. I guess what I mean by that is, that looking at it you wouldn't think it would make good clouds. And I didn't make good ones for awhile! It took practice on how to use this little paper gem. I have never made a copy or have taken a picture. UNTIL TODAY. A few weeks ago, I wanted to put clouds in a card, and I looked in my stencil's special home and it wasn't there! I looked EVERYWHERE is my stamp room. I looked in my trash can - it was empty.......lots of things fall in there by mistake, as it sits right below my work space so I can just scoop stuff in there. I was pretty upset, as you can imagine. I seriously LOVE this stencil. I guess it is my most prized stamping supply, as it is unique and a one-of-a-kind handmade gift for me! Kind of like signature clouds or something. So for weeks I have been sad about it and had tried different things. All the while my stamp room is getting messier and messier. FINALLY, with my stamp table stacked a foot high (literally) with sets, papers, embellies, and so on, I needed to clean! My work space was down to 6 x 6 inches and getting smaller. I couldn't find anything and wasn't being very productive. And GUESS WHAT?? As I straightened every inch of that room, I found my cloud stencil!! OH HAPPY DAY! That was Sunday! So I had to use it on my card for today. The moral of the story: PUT THINGS BACK WHERE THEY GO IMMEDIATELY! haha -- I don't know if I will keep that up, but my little cloud stencil went right back into its case today......
Thanks for coming by!
