New Designs at Hambo Stamps!

While I wait patiently for my new Hambo Stamps to arrive, I wanted to show you one of my favorite images. This Tub Lady (1717) looks so content and relaxed. I could use a dose of that, couldn't you?

Her bubble bath is overflowing with Liquid Applique (she must be a stamper!), and a little glitter is added for bubble sparkle. I think she is waiting for her new Hambo Stamps to arrive! Check out all the new designs HERE. There is something for everyone!

Be sure to check out the other Design Team members' designs:
Jane
Libby
MacKenzie (one of the fall releases, and super cute and creative!)

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope to show my new releases soon!

P.S. Yesterday was my puppy's birthday! Fiona is now one! And still so rambunctious!

It's Not Easy Bein' Green

Yes, it's really green, isn't it? But for St. Patrick's Day, it's perfect! Michelle from Stamper's Dream sent me this adorable image last month and I finally found the opportunity to color it and try out this style! I also chose to do the Stamper's Dream monthly challenge. This month it is to make a monochromatic card with three different shades of the same color family.

I didn't intend on using all greens, but the first thing I colored was the flower and made it a four-leaf clover, and then I knew if I was going to use this darling image, it had to be greens!

You can find Lily (SPRINGTIME CLEAR STAMP by Rachelle Ann Miller from Stampavie) HERE. It's a darling stamp, and the clover can certainly be a flower on another day!
My designer paper is by Close To My Heart, flowers are by The Paper Studio, branch punch by Martha Stewart, photo corner punch by Stampin' Up! The large eyelet in the corner is by Memory Keepers. Although it doesn't show in the picture, the little butterfly and stars have Crystal Stickles on them.

Thank you, Michelle, for such a fun image to work with!

Thanks for coming by today!

Draggin' My Tail~

Hello friends! I wanted to share this card with you today that I made several days ago.

Isn't this Dragon the cutest? He is one of the darling images from High Hopes Stamps. They have such fun, full-of-life images that are a blast to color. I used reinkers and an aqua brush to color this guy. The sketch is from HHC17 HERE. There are Crystal Stickles on his wings and one of the gifts. I added little gems in the corner to represent the hoarded treasure that this guy has stashed somewhere! You know they all do! It looks like he is willing to give some up in his presents, though! The sentiment and tag die cut are from Stampin' Up!

Thanks for stopping by today!

A Garden of Good Wishes

Today I wanted to share with you a card I made using my little peg stamps from Rubber Stamp Tapestry. If you haven't ever tried their stamps, you need to! They are a lot of fun, and make beautiful designs with ease. To see the supplies I used and how I made this card, click HERE.

RST also has great tutorials on their blog HERE. There are stamps for all occasions and no two are alike! I love how easy it is to use the peg stamps. And it's not time consuming at all!
Check them out today!

For Mothers

Our challenge this week over at House Mouse & Friends is to make a card that you could give to a mother. We have a lot of new mothers in our church, and I wanted to make this for a mother of a new boy. I liked my HM card HERE with all the white space, and decided to do another. If you visit frequently, you know that white space is not the *norm* for me! But I certainly do like the look!

I scored three lines on the top and bottom with my Scor-Pal, and then just used one layer of designer paper. I watercolored my bunny with Creamy Caramel and Pink Pirouette, and then painted the bottle with Bordering Blue and Basic Gray, and added Crystal Effects when it was dry. The sentiment is stamped in Certainly Celery and is by Stampin' Up!

If you would like to play along, check out the post HERE. We would love to see your *motherly* creations!

Another Celtic Cross

Congratulations to Jami Bova, today's SCS Featured Stamper! I got to know Jami when she was on the Design Team with me at Our Daily Bread designs. She is a sweet and creative person!

I chose THIS card of Jami's to case (copy and share everything). I changed the colors and images, but kept her great layout and design. I stamped the shamrocks in Versamark ink for a subtle background to the main image. This card is approx. 5 in. square.

Both Jami's stamps and the ones I used are by Our Daily Bread designs.

Speaking of ODBD, today begin Sneak Peeks for the new March releases at ODBD! Angel and Angella have some great samples for us today. More will be coming throughout the week!

Thanks for stopping by today!

The Xylophone Way

Now this was fun! How could you not love the name Flutter Clutter?

There were so many wonderful pieces to choose from for the SCS Inspiration Challenge 168 today. I decided to go a little whimsical and silly, and since I am a music teacher, I chose this xylophone as my inspiration. The ones at my school are just red and white and I don't think we have ever played "Stairway to Heaven" as the ad suggests, but I loved all these bright, fun colors! :)

There are three scored lines on the right that I made with my Scor-Pal. Stamps are from I Am The Way! by Our Daily Bread designs.

The computer issues are finally getting resolved, and although I lost everything on my desktop (I have a bad habit of saving things there and nowhere else...), I still have most everything. My husband is my hero! He bought me a new keyboard with a wrist guard so that my carpal tunnel won't be so irritating when I type! I am even learning some new programs that we didn't have before, and I just ordered PSE7 with a great half-off deal from Adobe.

And for a proud mama moment, my daughter was cast as Sally Brown in "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown" at her high school! I am thrilled for her and can hardly wait to see her go from this (the last role she played):

National Battery Day???

Last night as I was watching American Idol, our local channel had a commercial that talked about technology and how it's a love/hate relationship, and that yesterday was National Battery Day (which reminds me, I need to buy some rechargeable 9 volts for the guitar at church!). Anyway, I thought that was so weird! National Battery Day? I am sure you all celebrated that in a big way!

I suppose it's true that we love technology when it works and hate it when it doesn't. My computer hard drive crashed last Saturday night and I have been without my computer, files, pictures, etc. since then. My husband has been working to try to get everything back up and running, but there is always something that doesn't work with no explanation as to why not. "It was working a minute ago!"

Well, I hope today is the day, because as I was loading this picture, I noticed how much I miss my watermarks! They are all on the OTHER computer. I suppose that is a huge reminder to BACK UP everything on a flash drive so I have it saved. I always have the best intentions about that, but never do it! (Note to self: 9 volts, BIG flash drive, Diet Coke........good start to a WalMart list....)

Anyway, here is my card for today's Ways To Use It Challenge 206: Stripes. I had just bought this gorgeous designer paper at Hobby Lobby last week and was looking for something to use it for. Stripes!! All of the paper in my card is by SEI - from the Chocolat collection (love that movie, too!). The stamp set is a new one this season from Stampin' Up! called Three Little Words. It is a great set, as there are several "three little word" sentiments.

Oh yeah -- I was really happy with the results last night on Idol, because all three I chose were chosen to stay and made the Top 12!! (Poor Tatiana......sheesh!)

Thanks for coming by for a visit!

Stamps: Three Little Words (SU!)
Paper: All paper is from the Chocolat Collection by SEI
Ink: Rose Red
Accessories: Silver HPH, small oval punch, paper flowers by The Paper Studio, brad by SEI, Cranberry Crisp stitched ribbon, paper piercer, slit punch

You Can't Go Wrong With Pink and Green!

I made this card for two occasions. The first was for this week's SCS Featured Stamper Challenge. Julie Lacey was chosen as this week's stamper and I cased (copy and share everything) her card HERE. The "rules" are to change at least two things on the creator's card, keeping some things the same. I changed the colors and the images, and kept her basic design and layout. This is a 5 1/2" square card.

I also made this for a challenge I gave to the Our Daily Bread designs DT. They were to take one of the February releases and make it into a friendship or valentine card. Each participant received a secret name, and they will all be revealed next week. I will be sure to let you know when, so you can see them all. I can't tell you who this is for, but I can tell you that I love the pearls on it and I hope she will too! Surprise, surprise. Pearls are my favorite embellishment right now, and I have several colors from various companies.

And now for a bit of news! I have been asked to Guest Design for DRS Designs in March and April! I am excited to show you what I have planned with their images, but you will have to stay tuned for that until March! Check out THIS POST for a fun way to package stamps and how to recycle it! I can hardly wait to try that with my bag that my stamps came in!

I will get to work for those two months with some new friends, and one of my current blogging/stamping friends, Vicki! How cool is that? (Waving to you, Vicki, as I know you will read this!)

Thanks for stopping by today!

Ink: Encore Gold

House Mouse Monday with a New Sponsor

LinkToday over at House Mouse & Friends, we have a sketch challenge for you to try.
I tweaked it a little bit to fit with my image and designer paper. My little card is 4.25 inches (approx. 10.8 cm.) square.
Our sponsor today is 2RedBananas, who designed the sketch and, coincidentally, have Jami Bova on their DT. Jami is also a designer for them, and has her own illustrations rubberized! Cool! And there is more! Jami is one of three new DT members for the next 3 months at House Mouse & Friends! We would also like to welcome Patricia Rose and Rica over at Rica's Haven as new DT members! Welcome gals! Be sure to check out what ALL the Design Team did with the sketch today HERE.

I used Liquid Applique for the bubbles and added a little Crystal Stickles on the tub edge and legs. I colored my image with Copic markers (trying them out!). My little Hopper has been in the hot water too long, as his face is getting a little red! But he sure likes it in there!

On another note, I want to say Congratulations to my good friend, Cindy Motherway, who was announced as one of the newest SCS Dirty Dozen on Sunday! Way to go, Mothermark!

Thank you for stopping by today!

A Beautiful New Set!

I just love this brand new set, Cherry Blossoms, by Rubber Stamp Tapestry! I think my favorite part of the set is the little Cherry Blossom Sprig block. But the blossoms themselves are so sweet too. I just love these little peg stamps, because no two are alike, and you can make endless combinations with your sets, by changing a few stamps and the colors you use.

Be sure to check out Susan's awesome tutorial on this set HERE. She makes it all so easy to follow!

Stamps: SFL34068 - Cherry Blossoms; WOR38182B - Sending You Love (RST)

A St. Pat's Card - Think St. Valentine Will Mind?

It's all about sharing the day......

I have all my valentines done, so today I have a St. Patrick's Day card to share with you. I know many people do not make St. Pat's Day cards, or even celebrate it, but since I went to Ireland last May, I am kind of into the whole "green" thing and shamrocks (which were everywhere - especially at the 700+ ft. high Cliffs of Moher:). Today's card is from May God Hold You, a February release by Our Daily Bread designs. I stamped the sentiment in Black Stazon ink. The beautiful shimmery green paper is by DCWV (The Luxury MatStack) and the ribbon is by FX (Hobby Lobby). The shamrocks are stamped in Craft White ink (Stampin' Up!). There are two gold jumbo eyelets (Making Memories) on either side of the sentiment panel, which I threaded the ribbon through.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you are having a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Stamps: May God Hold You (ODBD)
Paper: Certainly Celery, GP White, Always Artichoke, Luxury MatStack (DCWV)
Ink: Black Stazon, White Craft
Accessories: ribbon, gold jumbo eyelets, paper piercer, paper frills (Doodlebug), pearls and gems (Mark Richards)

Valentines for Friends

I love Valentine's Day. I know a lot of people think it's a dumb holiday, but I truly love it. It's one of my favorites, actually. I think I like it so much because it gives me the opportunity and reminds me to tell the people that I love how much I love them, including my friends! (And all the chocolate isn't bad, either!)

So in honor of Valentine's Day and my friends, who are dear to me, I made this little Hambo Stamps valentine using some chipboard and some fun new paper I got today at Hobby Lobby (what a great sale this week!).

I stamped the Mailbox (0635) and Letter (o615) in Palette Noir Black ink, and then watercolored them with an aqua brush and reinkers. I used Gable Green, So Saffron and Purely Pomegranate ink. The sentiment (Friends - 1502) is stamped in Purely Pomegranate. My chipboard pieces (heart and arrow) are by The Paper Studio. I glued my paper to the chipboard, cut them out, and then sanded the edges with a sanding block. Designer paper is by The Paper Studio.

The mailbox is stamped twice and raised on dimensionals, and the letters are attached with glue dots and dimensionals. I cut out and layered my main image with Nestabilities. The letters have Crystal Stickles on the flaps.

Be sure to check out the Hambo Stamps blog today ("Talk to the Ham") and see what you might learn! (*wink!) Thanks for stopping by today, friends!

I Want to Be Tall and Thin!

That's the challenge over at House Mouse & Friends this week! Make a tall and thin card!
Well, mine is not so thin, but you get the idea -- taller than a standard A2 card!

I chose this darling little Mudpie "Singing in the Rain" for my image today. I stamped the image in Palette Noir Black ink, then watercolored using reinkers and an aqua brush. The raindrops also have Crystal Effects (CE) on them, and the flowers have a touch of Diamond Stickles. The Posies Glitter Stack paper (DCWV) was perfect for a background. I used my slit punch for the scallops.

The sentiment by Close to My Heart (CTMH) is stamped in Lovely Lilac ink. My ribbon is so shimmery and is from Hobby Lobby, and the brads are by The Paper Studio (also Hobby Lobby).

Here you can see a close up of the image and the CE on the raindrops. My little nozzle is messed up, so I have to use another way to apply it, and it's a little messy. That just means the drops are rather splashy! :)
Thanks for stopping by today! If you play along, be sure to link your card to the post HERE.

Have a great day~

Jazzy Inspirations~ and Some Blog Candy!

Two weeks ago, I was chosen as "Jazz Cat of the Week" over at Jazzy Inspirations. If you love jazz music, and want to play in a fun inspiration challenge, head on over there today! As Jazz Cat of the Week, you are a Guest Designer for that week's challenge. The week I was chosen I was at CHA, so I couldn't play along. But this week I did and it was a lot of fun. My son is a Jazz Studies major (trumpet), and we listen to a lot of jazz in our house, so this weekly blog challenge is a perfect one for me!

Our album for inspiration this week is by Grant Green. The colors we worked with were Basic Black, Creamy Caramel, Old Olive, and Whisper White.

You can see all of the Design Team's creations HERE. Tenia is even giving away some blog candy this week for one lucky participant! Read all about that HERE.

For my card, I chose to use a layout similar to the album cover. I had a stack of chipboard hearts in my stash, and thought it would work to use one of them for my main design. I scored a border using my Scor-Pal, then stamped the image from Happy Harmony (Stampin' Up!) in the corner (where the album title was). I then used one of Basic Grey's new rub-ons for my main image on the heart. I liked the look of this distressed flower against the stark white of the card base. I added some brads and ribbon, distressed the edges, and was done!

For another chance at some great Blog Candy, visit Anita's blog HERE. Today is the deadline, so hurry on over! Have a great Saturday!!

Embellishment Pile-up! Who Doesn't Want To?

Yesterday's SCS Ways To Use It Challenge 204 called for us to layer our embellishments. I chose to make a flower out of a silk hydrangea I bought at Hobby Lobby to take apart and put on cards. I have had all the blossoms in a drawer for a long time, and decided to use some of them today. My background paper is by Basic Grey, I believe, although it was in a pile of scraps and I don't really remember! The ribbon is from the last bit of Chocolate Chip Satin that Stampin' Up! sold awhile back. I love this ribbon and am looking for a replacement!

My tag is from the office supply store. I stamped it with Stampin' Up!'s Old World Map (retired) and then used a sentiment from Keep My Lamp Burning (Our Daily Bread designs). SCS Limited Supply Challenge 206 was to use a sentiment as your focal point and only stamp. Martha Stewart helped me punch my branches and the Fleur de lis is from my chipboard stash. I inked it up with Versacolor Umber. It repeats a design in the background of the tag. A little hardware in the center of the flower (also from my stash - unknown vendor!) and my embellishments are all piled up!

Stamps: Keep My Lamp Burning (ODBD), Old World Map (SU!)
Paper: Rose Red, Close to Cocoa, Basic Grey DP
Ink: Close to Cocoa, Rose Red, Chocolate Chip, Versacolor Umber
Accessories: hydrangea flowers, hardware, chocolate satin ribbon, chipboard, tag, Martha Stewart branch punch

Another Make and Take PLUS a Fantastic RAK!

I finally took the picture of my Make and Take from the CHA Basic Grey booth. There was a huge line to make these little notebooks, but when all was said and done, I was glad I did, as it turned out really cute and I got to try Basic Grey's rub-ons and chipboard. The little notebook is filled with a nice sized weighted paper for notes, sketches, or lists!

The back of the notebook looks the same as the front. I added the ribbons after I got home. The paper is from one of their new lines - Porcelain. I love it!

I don't usually post RAKs I receive on my blog - instead I put them in my RAK Gallery on SCS, but I just had to share this one with you today, and I hope that the designer won't mind!

I received this absolutely ADORABLE card from my dear friend, Holly {aka Toy on SCS} last week when I got home from CHA. Isn't is the cutest EVER? This is a set from Our Craft Lounge, whose stamps I just love and am beginning quite a collection of!

Holly, THANK YOU so much for making my day! It is a darling card I will treasure!

CPS Sketch 101

This week Our Daily Bread designs is sponsoring the Card Positioning Systems sketch 101.
If you would like to play along, link your card HERE.

Be sure to check out what the ODBD DT did as well! Their links are in the left sidebar of my blog.
Here is my card for the CPS sketch:

I used the new February release I Am the Way! from ODBD. My designer paper is a retired pattern from Stampin' Up!. I used a little ribbon slide from my stash (really not as dark as the picture) which says 'faith'. My ribbon is Stampin' Up! Kraft Tafetta. I painted my lily with Angel Wings Shimmerz. The sentiment is stamped in Certainly Celery ink, and the whole card is layered on River Rock cardstock. Pearls by Kaiser.

Many of you know that I am not a native Nebraskan and hope to get back to the West someday. But on mornings like this, I do appreciate the skies in the Plains. My husband took this a couple of days ago about 7:00 a.m. And no, I didn't PhotoShop the colors - this is how it came out!
This is looking out our front yard across the street to the Park that is across the street from our house:
Enjoy your day!

Fun Hambo Stamps!

I love these two stamps from Hambo Stamps. I think they are so cute and cards could be made to send to a lot of different people - family, friends, teachers~

I used the colors from today's SCS Color Challenge 204 for this card:
Tempting Turquoise
Lovely Lilac
Gable Green
Pink Passion

I love the Bold Brights color family (Stampin' Up!) and don't use them often enough, so this was a perfect challenge! I tweaked the colors a bit, as I was out of Gable Green. This fun designer paper is made by The Paper Studio. The dark green arrow is actually a shiny glossy paper inserted here and there in the design.

The inside of the card is lined with Green Galore and has a strip of Paper Frills by Doodlebug. The front is cut one inch shorter so the Frills show when the card is closed. There is a Pink Passion wash below the globe, and then I added Crystal Stickles for a little shine.

For the second SCS Color Challenge, CC204A, I made this card:

I LOVE this little giraffe, also from Hambo Stamps. He has such a cute expression! The colors for this challenge were:
Cameo Coral, Creamy Caramel and Old Olive. I substituted Kraft and Naturals Ivory for Creamy Caramel in the cardstock, but used it with an aqua brush and reinker to color in the body of my giraffe (spots are Cameo Coral). The "thread" in the buttons (by CTMH) are made with thin paper strips of Cameo Coral.

There are so many cute new releases by Hambo Stamps HERE. Be sure to take a peek!

Stamps: Globe - 2917; You Mean the World - 2928 (Hambo Stamps)
Paper: Green Galore, Lavender Lace, Whisper White, DP by The Paper Studio
Ink: Black Stazon, Green Galore, Pink Passion, Tempting Turquoise
Accessories: Crystal Stickles, Nestabilities, circle punch, ticket corner punch, green brads, aqua brush, Paper Frills by Doodlebug
Techniques: watercolor

Stamps: Above & Beyond - 2915; Giraffe - 2926 (Hambo Stamps)
Paper: Naturals Ivory, Cameo Coral, Kraft, unknown DP
Ink: Black Stazon, Creamy Caramel, Cameo Coral, Old olive
Accessories: buttons by CTMH, taupe grosgrain ribbon, Nestabilities, square brads
Techniques: watercolor

It's House Mouse Monday with Valentines

I missed last week's paper piercing challenge at House Mouse & Friends because I was visiting another mouse, Mickey, at Disneyland! Here are some fun pictures from the Park (it's my favorite place to go for an amusement park kind of day):

Today's House Mouse & Friends challenge was to make a Valentine. I love this sweet little guy and his little Be Mine heart. The sentiment in the corner is from Michael's $1 bin. The buttons are from the Cupcake Collection by Doodlebug Designs and the punch is from Martha Stewart. I cut my image out and layered it with Nestabilities. The flower is from Jolene's.

See what the rest of the DT did HERE. If you play along, you may win a cute House Mouse prize from our sponsor today, Simon Says Stamp. Link your card to this post. Good luck!
Thanks for stopping by! Come back later today for a picture of my Make and Take at the Basic Grey booth at CHA!

Super Bowl Sunday

Well, today is the day all football fans can hardly wait for, and dread, at the same time. I dread it because that means football is done until next season and I am stuck with basketball on every channel (which I don't watch at all). But I am rootin' for my home state Arizona Cardinals (Sorry, Holly!). Right now it's 10-7 Steelers, so we will see.

Be sure to check out this fantastic Super Bowl Sale at Hambo Stamps! What a deal! Come back Tuesday for some awesome Hambo designs I have to share with you!

Today I want to share this card with you. For the SCS Featured Stamper Challenge, I chose this card of Bev's to CASE (Copy and Share/Steal Everything). I didn't have any stamps similar to her images, so I chose this beautiful lighthouse stamp from Keep My Lamp Burning by Our Daily Bread designs. New release just today!

I kept her basic layout and design, but changed images, left off the flowers and my sentiment is in a different place. I chose beads randomly from my stash and then added silver spacers at each end on the pin. My image is stamped on watercolor paper and then painted using reinkers and an aqua brush.

There are three new releases over at Our Daily Bread designs. Be sure to check them out! And take a minute to watch the Slide show of many of the DT's cards! I also want to say a big welcome to Holly McMillen, who is our new Guest Designer at ODBD. We are thrilled to have her! Here is one of her awesome cards with Keep My Lamp Burning.

Thanks for stopping by today! Tomorrow I will have a House Mouse & Friends card to show you, as well as another project I made at CHA using some of the new gorgeous Basic Grey paper!

Stamps: Keep My Lamp Burning (ODBD)
Paper: Basic Grey Skate Shoppe and Two Scoops DP, SU Watercolor, Basic Black, Baja Breeze
Ink: Palette Noir Black, Blue Bayou, More Mustard, Wild Wasabi, Creamy Caramel
Accessories: Pretties kit pin, beads, striped ribbon, Sizzix Architectural corner die, distressing tool
Techniques: watercolor, distressing
