100 Minus One Day

I really had a fun time with this card. The darling digital image is Bella and Bronte from Maurie J. Manning at Digital Pencil Too. She has some wonderful images there, as well as some beautiful books that she has illustrated. What a delight!

I thought that the Winnie the Pooh sentiment from Verve was the perfect accompaniment to Bella and Bronte.

I colored by image using a combination of Copics and watercolor. There are Crystal Stickles on the flowers - always hard to get that in a photo. Stay tuned later this week for more wonderful images from Maurie!

Thanks for stopping by!

Disaster Averted - Somewhat!

Today's SCS Color Challenge 229 was perfect for this new image from Happy Birthday by Our Daily Bread designs. This set and another (come back Saturday to see that one!) will be available August 1 from ODBD.

So I haven't stamped in several days and knew today's challenge was just what I needed! I stamped the water can and flowers in VersaFine Onyx Black ink, and set to using reinkers and an aqua brush to paint my image. I loved the result and the colors look so end-of-the-summer-ish.

I got out my trusty Nestabilities to cut and emboss, and this is what happened:

I was NOT happy! So I left it alone and went and took a shower, played Farm Town on Facebook for awhile (Won't You Be My Neighbor?) and then came back to it to see what I could do. I tell you, by the time I got it figured out I could have painted another one. But I didn't want it to go to waste, and figured since I had mixed some of the colors, I wouldn't get it the same.

So -- now you know why there are three little Primas there, and why the edge is cut off. I hope that you will use your mistakes to your best advantage too! You can still see a bit of the embossing on the side, but I think it works!

Be sure to come back on Saturday to see both of the new August releases and hear some FUN news too!!
Thanks for stopping by!

Florals Fantastic

Today I want to share with you two samples that I made using peg stamps from Rubber Stamp Tapestry. These stamps are so easy to work with and make up the most beautiful bouquets, wreaths and garlands!

For my first sample I used the Rose Trio set from Rubber Stamp Tapestry. There are four little peg stamps in this set, and they are so easy to use!

The "Mom" word block stamp is also from Rubber Stamp Tapestry.

The ribbon is such a perfect match IRL - in this picture it looks a tad orange, but it is the Groovy Guava stitched ribbon - I love that stuff! You can see exactly how I made this card HERE.

My second sample uses the Moonlit Vase Set.

Directions and supplies for this card are HERE. Click on either photo for a close-up look at these gorgeous flowers!

And here is a picture from my garden!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Happy Anniversary and Hip Hop Hangover!

Today is Unity Stamp Co.'s day to highlight customer creations with Hip Hop Hangover!

Visit the Unity blog to see the list of participating blogs in the hop today!

I made my card using images from the new Hodge Podge of Happiness kit, just released! I love this kit and took part in voting to see which images would be included. These two were two of my favorites! There a a LOT of fun images and you can see them all HERE. Designer Paper is Wild Raspberry by K & Co. Click on either photo for a close-up view.

Thanks for stopping by today. It's a special day for me, as 27 years ago I married the love of my life! It seems like only a few years and not more than half my life! Off to tell him so! :)

A Crooked Detour

This is a little detour from my normal style, but I sure had fun with it!

I stamped one of the quotes from Let Us Begin (Our Daily Bread designs) in Brocade Blue on vellum and then embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder. After tearing the edges, I adhered it to my brand new K & Co. DP and then sewed the edges. A little ribbon, my favorite pearls, a punched EK Success Wavy border, and it was done!

Click on either photo for a close-up!

My fellow DT members on ODBD will tell you that I am a pretty straight-edge kind of girl. I normally do not put anything on at an angle, or purposely crooked, so I did today just to be a rebel. And no straight stitching! And a wavy edge! The vellum has a diamond pattern on it -- more angles!

Thanks for stopping by today! Tomorrow is a special day! Come back and see why~

Today's Color Challenge Hosted By ....... Me!

I thought summer was the time when you had more time? I am finding I have less time!
I suppose, in all actuality, I have the same amount of time as every other part of the year. It's what I do with it that is different! Or maybe it just feels like time is slipping away faster than I want it to? :)

So, I have not stamped in several days, but was glad to be the guest hostess for the SCS Color Challenge today so I had to get back in the groove.

The colors I chose for today's challenge were Not Quite Navy, Pretty in Pink and Really Rust. Kind of an odd combination for me, but I love how the card turned out.

I used two images from my new July KOTM (a pocket full of...) by Unity Stamp Co.
My bird is stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black and then watercolored with the three challenge colors using an aqua brush and reinkers. The NQN panel is embossed with the Cuttlebug Textile embossing folder.

There are Crystal Stickles on the bird's body, wings, and tail, which you can see a little better here (although not much!):

You can click on either photo for a closer look.

Thanks for taking a peek and stopping by today! I know the colors are a little different, but give them a try!

Time to Relax

What a whirlwind week this has been!

My birthday was on Wednesday (thank you for all the birthday wishes and cards - I will be showing those soon!) and we opened "My Fair Lady" this week at our community theatre
(I am the Music Director and Choreographer).
It has been a full and fullfilling week!
But now it's time to RELAX!

Hip Hop Hangover

Today is Hip Hop Hangover so sit down, relax, and check out some awesome Unity Customer Creations!

Visit the Unity blog to see the list of participating blogs in the hop today!

I used RELAX from the June KOTM and Cosmo Cricket's Early Bird DP. The sentiment is stamped in Baja Breeze and then inked again in Kiwi Kiss (for a two-tone look) before stamping on the Papertrey Ink White (click on the photo to see the ink colors close-up). Flower is by Prima and buttons are by CTMH.

Many Tanks!

Today's Featured Stamper at SCS is one of my favorite stampers, Kelly, aka schirmcat!!
She has such an awesome gallery; I could spend all day in there.

I cased Kelly's darling card HERE. Click either photo for a close-up~

I changed the images and colors, from heart to star, moved the sentiment, and added ric rac. I kept her layout and the basic design.

I colored my images and chipboard star with Copics. There are Crystal Stickles on the tank flags.

Thanks for stopping by! I am headed into a busy week! "My Fair Lady" opens officially on this Thursday, with performances on Th, F, and Sat., and we have two pre-preformances on Tuesday and Wednesday. First dress rehearsal with costumes, make-up, set, and sound is tonight -- that should be fun (ha!)~
