Inspired by What?

Hop on over to the Flourishes blog and see my first post there as the January Limelight Designer!

Today I want to share with you briefly about where I get my inspiration for my projects. I tend to use nature and the color found there, as I am sure many of you also do, for the starting point for my cards. Take for example, the card I have made using Seaside Life:

It is rich with deep blues and greens of the ocean, and after a week of sub-zero temperatures, I am dreaming of the time when I can bask in the sunshine and warmth of the Atlantic Ocean again! The somewhat darker colors reflect the current winter season, but with the hope that someday my thermometer will rise above 10 degrees!

Thanks for stopping by today, and to all my loyal subscribers and readers:
I AM BACK!

A New Year

Welcome to 2010!

I have been visibly absent for two months, and although many of my readers know why, not all. So today I wanted to share with you that my sweet father passed away on December 9th after a long illness. This is a picture of the two of us: I was eight years old and we were working for the forest service in a lookout tower fighting fires in the Coconino National Forest in Arizona.

He was a wonderful man, and though we all miss him dearly, we are also glad that he is no longer fighting all of the ills that diabetes brings on.

Thank you to all who have sent me beautiful cards, notes, hugs and prayers. I appreciate you so much!

And now it's time to stamp again and get back into the groove! I will have some exciting news to share tomorrow, so stay tuned!
