You are Special - A Loopy Tutorial

Today I want to show you a fast and easy fun card that will make you go loopy~!  With ribbon, that is!
First, I chose a previous month's Really Reasonable Ribbon Club Assortment (January 2012) and used some of the printed ribbon scraps that I had left. I LOVE how all of the ribbons in the assortment go together so I don't have to spend time choosing what will work with what. I decided to use all grosgrain, although you can mix and match ribbon styles and widths for fun textures.

Start with your card layer and Scor-Tape. I use the 1/4" for the grosgrain. Add a piece of tape the width of your card, and just high enough for the length of loops you want to make. My bottom row of loops were approximately one inch long, so I adhered the tape about half an inch up from the bottom of my card panel.
Add a second row of tape for the second row of loops. The second row of loops were about 1 1/2" long. I didn't measure any of this, just eye-balled it!
Begin with your smaller cut loops and adhere them to themselves using Glue Dots, then to the bottom row of Scor-Tape, folding in half.
Continue adding loops across the entire bottom row of Scor-Tape.
Add the second row of longer loops.
I alternated the ribbon patterns as I went. Finish off with a length of ribbon of one of your patterns, using Scor-Tape to adhere.
Add your desired design to the rest of the card. My sentiment is from In and Out You by Flourishes, available at i {heart} papers. I stamped it on Ultra Smooth Premium White CS using Rose Bud Memento ink. I added Kaiser Pearls to the corner for a little pop of bling. All done!
I hope you will try this very easy, fun, loopy design!
What do you think? I think my mom will love this for her birthday this month!

Find Joy - Even After a Snow Storm!

It's Thursday, and that means a new sketch from Jen
My card today uses a sentiment from Flourishes' Old Fashioned Florals
I am really wishing for a warmer Spring right now,
and lots of flowers in my garden.

I stamped the sentiment with Elegant Eggplant (SU!) ink.
I thought it was appropriate, as I looked out my window today
and the ground is covered with snow,
and the winds are gusting to 45 mph!

The trims are White Mini Pom Poms and Licorice Baker's Twine.
Stamps and trims are available at
i {heart} papers!

My designer papers are from Basic Grey's Sweet Threads 12 x 12 Collection. I have so many 12 x 12 papers and never use them,
so thought I would start making a teeny dent in that stash.
Here is this week's sketch:
Here's what you have to do to if you want to play along with us...

For Mother's Day

Today I want to share a design I made using Flourishes' In and Out You set, available at i {heart} papers here. I love the versatility of this set. I made this for my mom for Mother's Day.

I used Poptone's Sweet Tooth CS for my base, and then added a layer of Colorbok's Textured White. I made a pocket with the Sweet Tooth and added three different trims to offer a color contrast. I was inspired by the SCS Inspiration Challenge this week. I chose this lovely fun tri-color prom dress for my inspiration. I like the ombre look and used a tri-color ribbon to carry that theme into my card.
My ink is Memento's London Fog and I chose some Snow White KaiserCraft Pearls for embellishment. My flower is by Prima. I used a Rolodex punch for the top and ran my Scor-Bug below the punched edge. All of the links will take you to the supplies I used from i {heart} papers!

The trims are all from Really Reasonable Ribbon. In addition to the SCS Challenge, this is also for RRR's Mother's Day Challenge here.
I love how this turned out and think my mom will too~!

This card, also using a Flourishes sentiment, won at Twisted Tuesdays~!

Really Reasonable Ribbon's April Blog Hop!

It's time to hop with Really Reasonable Ribbon! This month's Ribbon Club Assortment is a beautiful collection of blues and greens and is sure to bring some great eye candy from the RRR Team. I hope that you will join us today and hop along!
If you arrived here from Trudy's blog, you are in the right place! If you just happened along, be sure to start at the beginning at the RRR Blog (I am the third stop, so you don't have far back to go!) so you don't miss out on the awesome projects, fun news, and a prize from Really Reasonable Ribbon! Our hop goes live at 6:30 AM CST.

Each 13th of the month it's the Really Reasonable Ribbon blog hop where we highlight the Ribbon Club! This month, Bonnie's choices for the April ribbon club package are just so fresh! So many great ribbons to use with spring themes -- plus lots of other occasions!
If you really love ribbon and would like to have a wonderful assortment of ribbons sent to you automatically each month, just join the Really Reasonable Ribbon Club! Monthly ribbon club assortments are selected and pre-packed to reflect a specific theme, color, or holiday season. The assortments vary from month to month, but an average assortment has 5-9 different ribbon styles and consists of 10-15+ yards of ribbon.  You will love it! Tell Bonnie that Judy sent you!

I used Popcorn the Bear "Fishing" for my card today.  I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black (my go-to ink!) and then colored it in using Spectrum Noir Markers. My designer paper is from The Green Stack by DCWV.  I added some crazy sewing, and the pretty Island Splash grosgrain ribbon in the assortment for my card today. It was a perfect match for my fish! Bonnie also carries a wide variety of buttons in the RRR Store, and you can find what I used today HERE - Teal Ice! Everything is held together with 1/8" and 1/4" Scor-Tape.

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to comment along the way at all my amazing teammates' blogs for the awesome prizes from Really Reasonable Ribbon

I Love Jen's Sketches!

It's Thursday, and that means a new sketch from Jen
My card today is from a cute Paper Smooches
set called Green Acres
(Are you singing that song now? Ha!)
I stamped my cow on Copic Blending Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her in with Spectrum Noir markers. The sentiment is also stamped in Tuxedo Black. I cut some grass from pink cardstock and added some 3/8" Black Ric Rac and a Swiss Dots Grosgrain bow from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

My designer papers are from two different collections:
