My First Mix-Ability Challenge

I have wanted to try the Mix-Ability challenges on Splitcoast since they began, but when school is going on, I am too crazy to get paint out haha! So today I tried my first one, along with the SCS Ways To Use It Challenge: Doodle Defined.
I used Flourishes' Poppy Patch (my favorite Flourishes set!) and stamped on watercolor paper using Memento Tuxedo Black ink (both available at i {heart} papers). I painted the poppies with acrylic paint (smooth texture) and let some of the black outline run. The outer subtle color was painted with Linen Distress ink. My rough texture is distressing. I doodled around the circle for a hand drawn border. Everything is adhered using ISP Red Line Tape and
Sticky Thumb Dimensional Dots.

It was a lot of fun to make this! More Mixed Media in my future, I hope!

Some really fun news:
i {heart} papers is having its first ever DT Call, and you are invited to apply! CLICK HERE for more info! The call closes June 14th! I l LOVE working with Kate so much! Give it a try~!

Stamps: Poppy Patch by Flourishes (available at IHP)
Paper: Crumb Cake (SU!), watercolor, Basic Grey DP
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, acrylic paint, Linen Distress ink (TH)
Accessories and tools: Kaiser Latte pearls, burlap circle (The Paper Studio), Spellbinders Circle die, printed twill ribbon

The Battle of the Bands with Hambo Stamps

Welcome to "The Battle of the Bands" sponsored by Hambo Stamps! Today Hambo friends and the Bacon Bits Design Team are bringing you fun creations that depict Band groups! It might be our favorite, or just one that was fun to design. If you arrived here from Kendra's beautiful blog you are in the right place! If not, you might want to start back at the beginning at the Hambo blog to make sure you are eligible for the hopper prize!

A prize will be awarded to one participant whose comic strip-themed creation tickles the Bacon Bits’ fancy in a hammin’ jammin’ way!  Another prize will be awarded randomly to a hopper who comments on all of the blogs along the way. The winners will be announced on the Hambo company blog, Talk to the Ham, on Wednesday, May 29, as well as at the Hambo Hoedown challenge blog. We love comments anytime, but the deadline for prize entry comments is Sunday, May 26 at 5 PM CST. Don't miss it!

The band I chose is a trio of girls. Can you figure it out?

It's the Dixie Chicks! And they are standing in "Wide Open Spaces" (see video!).

I used Chick (0624) and What's Up Chick? (2704) for my images. I stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black ink and colored in with Copic markers. My layout is Deconstructed Sketch 102.

Here is a little music to get your toes tappin':

You made it! You forged through the Battle of the Bands to the end! Be sure you have commented along the way to be eligible for a Hambo shopping trip!

Now I would like to invite you to head on over to the Hambo Hoedown and join in our weekly challenge! Fun stuff there~!

Here is this week's sketch #102:
I chose Games People Play (Fresh Squeezed Stamps) for my images today.
I stamped the tiles in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and the Queen and sentiments using Memento Rose Bud on Ultra Smooth Premium White CS. My designer paper is from Echo Park's Sweet Girl 6x6 pad. Supplies available at i {heart} papers.

I punched out three little hearts, hand cut my banner, and added a chipboard heart (October Afternoon).

Timeless Tuesday Challenge 221

It's all about butterflies today for our Timeless Tuesday #221 challenge! Our hostess, Jenny, has asked us to include butterflies on our designs.
I have some really lovely designer paper that I hoard, and this particular paper is from the Mariposa Stack (8x8) by DCWV.
My images are sentiments from Flourishes' With Gratitude. I stamped them with Memento Tuxedo Black ink along the bottom and inside the frame.
Kaiser Pearls and Black Ric Rac finish the design.

Read all about the challenge here and join us!

Timeless Tuesday With Flourishes

I am thrilled to be joining the Friends of Flourishes Design Team with my first Timeless Tuesday post today! I just learned earlier this week while I was on vacation that I would be a part of this fabulous team, and I am still visiting my son in North Carolina, so today's post will be sharing two cards I have previously made that fit our challenge this week. Next week I will have something brand new to share~!

Our hostess for this week is Broni and she is asking for creations in blues and greens. Here are two of my favorites:
My first card is made using one of the sentiments and sentiment frame from Sweet Violets

My second card uses Old Fashiond Florals.

I am excited to share with you each Tuesday, and look forward to next week when I will be home to create something new~!

Be sure to visit the rest of the Timeless Tuesday Team to see what they have made!

Monthly ribbon club assortments are selected and pre-packed to reflect a specific theme, color, or holiday season. The assortments vary from month to month, but an average assortment has 5-9 different ribbon styles and consists of 10-15+ yards of ribbon.  You will love it! Tell Bonnie that Judy sent you!

I used two of the ribbons in the assortment this month: Betsy White Crochet Lace and Red Swiss Dots Grosgrain. Everything is held together with 1/8" and 1/4" Scor-Tape. My designer paper is Summer Fresh by Simple Stories.
