Timeless Tuesday #231

It’s July and we’re right in the throes of wedding season so this week, your Timeless Tuesday challenge is to create a card or project where you use "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue." Allison is our hostess this week and her challenge is to use something:
  • OLD – use something older from your product stash (paper, embellishments, etc.)
  • NEW - the newest stamp that you just acquired
  • BORROWED – scraplift or CASE a “design” from our Flourishes Gallery (*PLEASE link & credit the project inspiration piece from our gallery.)
  • BLUE – add something blue on it!
**PS:  Your creation does NOT have to be a wedding themed project!**
I used one of my newest Flourishes sets, Pinwheels & Popsicles. I borrowed my inspiration from one of my sweet stamping friends and Flourishes DT member, Tosh!
I stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in using the Copic Collections below.
I added some Spica Glitter pens to the pinwheels centers. My "old" is my embossing folder and my "new" is the stamp set.
Read all about the challenge and how to play HERE
I hope you will come play along!
Please be sure to check out what the rest of the team made!

Stamps: Pinwheels & Popsicles
Ink: Memento Tuxedo, Copics

Brighter Days and a New Sketch!

It's Thursday and that means a new sketch
Here is this week's sketch #111, designed by teamie Donna!
This is a quick, cute little 4.25" square card I made for a friend who is going through some changes and rough times in her life.  I always think I have to make a "wow" card before I can send anything, and really, people just want to know you are thinking of them.
I moved the button part down and made mine a flower. I wanted to use bright papers to go with the awesome word art from TLC Creations. This digi image was a freebie at Create With TLC -- if you haven't been to Paulette's blog, and you like digital art, you really need to make a visit.

I love seeing what the rest of the team creates, and how different the same sketch can look, so be sure to have a visit at their blogs too!
Here's what you have to do to if you want to play along with us...

1. Use the sketch above to make a project, any kind you like using any image you like.
2. Post it somewhere on the internet. Use keyword DS111 if you post to an online gallery like Splitcoaststampers.
3. Link back here to Inlinkz at the bottom of the post so we can stop by and see it.
4. Check back here next Wednesday to see if you are one of this week’s favorites and grab a badge for your blog.

Timeless Tuesday #230 - Christmas in July

This week's Flourishes Timeless Tuesday #230 is Christmas in July (FTTC230), but with a catch!  It has to be SEMI-FLAT for mailing, so NO big bows or lumpy bumpy envelopes on this one!  Katie is our hostess, and she did say semi-flat, so there is a little room for extras - like bling!
I used my favorite winter set: Snow Day, and made a pink and white Christmasy delight! I stamped the skates in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them in using the Lenten Rose and Cool Neutrals Copic Collections.

I hope you will come play along!
Please be sure to check out what the rest of the team made!

Here is this week's sketch #110:

The Kraft Little Bitty bag, Cotton Candy Baker's Twine, and Pearl Pink Chevron ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon. My designer paper is by My Mind's Eye.

My card is made with the new Flourishes Pinwheels & Popsicles set available at IHP here. I stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Spectrum Noir markers.
The ribbon is Really Reasonable Ribbon's Citrus Multi-Dots grosgrain from the July Club Assortment.

Timeless Tuesday #229 - Make it Mini

This week's Flourishes Timeless Tuesday #229 is all about Making it Mini! Jenny is our hostess today and she is asking us to create three miniature cards sized 3″ x 3″ or close to it… just smaller than your typical A2 (FTTC229).

I chose the new Anemones for my set of three.
This set has some beautiful sentiments in a lovely font that make sweet little minis. Mine are 3.5" x 3.5".

I stamped each of the amemones in a different color and added some texture with an embossing folder and different colored pearls.
Easy and fast, these are cards I know I will use! They would also make a cute little gift set.

I hope you will come play along!
Please be sure to check out what the rest of the team made!
Paper: Sweet Tooth (Poptone)
Ink: Blue Bayou (SU!), Ladybug Red (Memento), Grape Jelly (Poptone)
Accessories: Circle and Scalloped Circle dies (SB), embossing folder (SU!), pearls (Kaiser)

Light It Up!

It's time to hop with Really Reasonable Ribbon! If you arrived here from Bonnie's blog, you are in the right place! If you just happened along, be sure to start at the beginning at the RRR Blog (I am the third stop, so you don't have far back to go!) so you don't miss out on the awesome projects, fun news, and a prize from Really Reasonable Ribbon! Our hop goes live at 6:30 AM CST.

Each 13th of the month it's the Really Reasonable Ribbon blog hop where we highlight the Ribbon Club! This month is a Citrus Assortment:
If you really love ribbon and would like to have a wonderful assortment of ribbons sent to you automatically each month, just join the Really Reasonable Ribbon Club! Monthly ribbon club assortments are selected and pre-packed to reflect a specific theme, color, or holiday season. The assortments vary from month to month, but an average assortment has 5-9 different ribbon styles and consists of 10-15+ yards of ribbon.  You will love it! Tell Bonnie that Judy sent you!

My card today features a brand new release from Flourishes, Pinwheels & Popsicles, available at i {heart} papers. I love this set! It is so festive and versatile! I wanted to make a CAS design, so didn't do a lot of layers. I stamped my images in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored in with Spectrum Noir markers.
I used the Maize Satin with Grosgrain Edge ribbon from the Club assortment, as well as Yellow Solid Baker's Twine. Love that rich color!

I am also entering this card in CAS-ual Friday's CFC 109: Polka Dots!
Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to comment along the way at all my amazing teammates' blogs for the awesome prizes from Really Reasonable Ribbon

Day #5 with Growing in Unity

It is Day #5 of Growing in Unity!
I have thoroughly enjoyed sharing Unity Stamps creations with you this week! Today is my last day as a GIU Gal, and I thought since it was also Friday, it is the perfect day to
"unwined."

My images are from Shall We Unwined? -- a cute Itty Bitty set! My card is totally inspired by my sweet friend and fellow i {heart} papers teamie, Stacey. Thanks for the inspiration, Stacey!

Be sure to leave a comment on each of the five Unity posts, as there are two Itty Bitty stamp sets (of their choice!) going to one lucky winner that comments on each day. I will choose my winner tomorrow morning!

Here are Day #1, Day #2 and Day #3 and Day #4 if you missed them! Thanks for sharing this week with me!

Sketching It Out With Unity Day #4

It's Thursday and that means a new sketch
at The Deconstructed Sketch
It is also Day #4 of Growing in Unity!
Here is this week's sketch #109:
I flipped the sketch, and added my circle behind the long panel (my banner) instead of in front of it. I love being able to use so many different patterned papers! The cork arrow is available at i {heart} papers.
My images are from the Itty Bitty Strong Is Your Only Choice stamp. I stamped the sentiment so that it could be in two parts because I wanted to emphasize the "You" (and follow the sketch too!). The background is seven different papers from the Walnut Grove Collection (Pebbles).

Be sure to stop by each day through Friday this week, and leave a comment on each Unity post, as there are two Itty Bitty stamp sets going to one lucky winner that comes back each day this week!

Here are Day #1, Day #2 and Day #3 if you missed them!

See you tomorrow!
The Deconstructed Sketch girls have some fabulous samples to show, so be sure to have a visit at their blogs too!

Growing in Unity Day #3

For my Color Throwdown #250 celebration post, click HERE or scroll down.
Today is Day #3 for my Growing in Unity Guest Designer week! Halfway done already?? Time does fly when you are having fun.

Today I am taking a departure from the last two days, and presenting a mixed media project using The Strongest People.
Although mixed media always scares me, I love making it because I am such a control freak and with this I can't be. It is fun to know that any "mistakes" will look just fine!

To create this background, I started out with the Summer Splash paper from Stampington and Co., and added some gold and silver Encore ink. I embossed the silver with Clear EP for added texture. I used sprays and direct to paper in various places and then stamped the bird cage from the stamp set using Poptone Blu Raspberry Ink. On a separate piece of Summer Splash, I stamped the sentiment with Poptone Hot Chocolate ink. All the edges were distressed.
I added Juliet Natural Crochet lace, Aqua Organza ribbon and two colors from Hemptique's Aquamarine Hemp Cord Set (all Really Reasonable Ribbon), and tied two little charms (a key and the word "Live") in the bow. A couple of Kaiser Latte pearls, and it was all done!

Be sure to stop by each day through Friday this week, and leave a comment on each Unity post, as there are two Itty Bitty stamp sets going to one lucky winner that comes back each day this week!

Here are Day #1 and Day #2 if you missed them!
See you tomorrow!

Celebrating Five Years With The Color Throwdown!

I am so thrilled to be a part of the birthday celebration at The Color Throwdown today! I had the honor of being a Guest Designer with them last summer during July. I can't believe that was a year ago! And here we are at the 250th Color Throwdown Challenge! Not only do they have great color combos, but I love each of the women on their team!

Be sure to visit the Color Throwdown Blog for a list of all participating alumni and guest designers, AND.... there are FABULOUS prizes to be had if you join in the challenge too! Check it out for all the deets~!

Here is our color inspiration for this 250th week!
My card today is made using Reverse Confetti's Dream in Color, available at i {heart} papers. I thought it was the perfect set to celebrate the Color Throwdown!
One of my new favorite paper collections is Hip Hip Hooray by American Crafts. It had perfect colors for the challenge.
I arranged three sentiment pieces on my block and then stamped them on my paper using Memento Rosebud ink. I added a cork arrow from the Fancy Pants' Cork Shapes Label Stickers (from IHP), some banners, and some paper flowers for my embellishments. I had most of these things on my desk already, so it was nice to use something twice before I had to put it away again.
Thanks so much for stopping by to help celebrate CTD250! Don't forget to play along for a chance at those amazing prizes!

I will have Day #3 of Growing in Unity later this morning, so stop back by for a chance to win some Unity too~!

Strengthen Others - Growing in Unity Day #2

For my Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge scroll down, or click HERE.

Today is Day #2 for my Growing in Unity Guest Designer week! About a month ago, I snagged several fun Unity kits and new singles in a fabulous sale. Today's project shows one of those singles: being kind STRENGHTHENS others. I love what this says.
I stamped the sentiment in Licorice Black ink (The {Stamps} of Life) and my fun designer paper (American Crafts) and matching flowers did the rest!
My colors are from my summer camp class homework - yep, I am going to camp -- for ME! I signed up for this class last minute yesterday and am pretty excited about it! Here are the colors:
I added green in there too, but hopefully they won't kick me out on the second day of class!

Be sure to stop by each day through Friday this week, and leave a comment on each Unity post, as there are two Itty Bitty stamp sets going to one lucky winner that comes back each day this week!
Here is Day #1 if you missed it!
See you tomorrow!
