Creativity with Visible Image

Hello friends!
I am thrilled to be Guest Designing with Visible Image this summer! I absolutely love their stamps and am happy to share my first project for them on my blog today.

I am sharing a more CAS collage using Creative Chaos from Visible Image. I blended three ink colors using the Picket Fence Studios Life Changing Brushes, and then stamped my large flower using VersaFine Clair Nocturne. The flower was colored using the same blending technique with the lightest ink.

I stamped other elements from the set using VersaMark and VersaFine Smoky Gray. It was cool because the watermark ink changed color, according to which blended ink it hit.

The last thing I did was stamp the sentiment. I chose a contrasting color for the panel behind, and then adhered all to my black card base.

I hope you will stop back and see another Visible Image project tomorrow! You can see other Visible Image projects HERE.

Freshly Made Sketches #394

It's Wednesday and time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! Jen T. is our hostess for this week's sketch, and it has room for lots of possibilities!

For today's sketch, I used one of my monoprints made with acrylic paints and a Gel Press. I chose one that reminded me of stage lights, I thought it went well with the silhouette images from Picket Fence Studios. Those were stamped with VersaFine Clair Nocturne - a little hard sometimes to get that ink to adhere to paint, but it worked! The sentiment is from Tim Holtz. Kind of a fun, sassy card. I finished off with two kinds of washi tape around the sentiment.

I hope you will join us! Our challenge is open until 3 PM EDT on Monday! Click on the links on the FMS blog by each photo to see what my teammates have created on their blogs!

Stand Alone Word Dies

Happy Monday! I can’t believe that NEXT Monday is JULY! Goodness, the summer is flying by. And it’s been a LOVELY one here so far. This week will be high 80’s and sunshine – finally a respite from all the rain we have been having. But rain brings happiness to the flowers and makes them lovely – just like these flowers today with the LOVELY WORD DIE from Picket Fence Studios.

I want to show two different cards today, each using Ruffled Peony Bouquet (previously released) and one of the new word dies from the June release. First up is a watercolored bouquet.

I added layers of Kuretake Gansai Tambi paint, and then cut the word alone out of black cardstock. For easy placement, and to keep it straight, I used the negative piece of cardstock and lay my pieces in as I glued them to the watercolored piece.

Next is an uncolored image I showed previously on Release Day using the same Ruffled Peony Bouquet, and the Lovely Word die with its “shadow base.” I stamped the bouquet with VersaFine Clair Nocturne, and then made the center panel using red and white cardstock. It gives two totally different looks, don’t you think?
I know it’s a die I will be using often! Check out the entire June release for another fabulous new stand alone word die, along with some crazy awesome stencils, stamps, and dies!

Freshly Made Sketches #393

It's Wednesday and time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! Lee Ann is our hostess for this week's sketch.

I am sending this card to my son. He preached an amazing sermon on heaven a couple of Sundays ago ("Good Heavens"), and I loved his points about "wonder" (the series' title). You can find his sermon video HERE. Definitely worth a listen.

I made my card using a watercolor piece I had "doodled" in a sunny yellow. I used gold washi tape and black cardstock for the under layers. The stamp is from Unity Stamp Co. I thought it was a perfect fit to reiterate what he was saying in his sermon, and to thank him for his message! He mentions some answers to prayer for our family, and for me personally, and I am so thankful for the power of prayer.
I hope you will join us! Our challenge is open until 3 PM EDT on Monday! Click on the links on the FMS blog by each photo to see what my teammates have created on their blogs!

June Release for Picket Fence Studios!

It's an exciting day for Picket Fence Studios - the June Release! There are so MANY amazing products in this release - new stencils, stamps, and coordinating dies!

Today I am sharing four cards that I made for the release. But I'm sure you want to see the ENTIRE release, so I am going to just highlight the cards and sets I made, and then later this week, post each individually with the details! I know you'll want to head over to the site and see it all!

First up is the adorable ONE HOT CHICK. This set is going to go fast (because there's another to complement)! I love these gal chicks and their sassy little bodies. The chicken feed is made with the new WATERCOLOR BRUSH STROKES STENCIL (a must have!).
They are so much fun to color! And you can save 20% with the Bundle!

Next is one of the new Word Dies: SERIOUSLY. I can think of so many times you can use this die, and for many different occasions! I paired it with the previously released DANDELION WISHES:

One of the new stamps that is perfect for backgrounds and texture is POLKA DOT GRUNGE. I paired it with one of the sentiments from the new NATURAL STATE OF SARCASM and one of the previously released Beautiful Girls - MARTI.

Finally, another new Word Die: LOVELY, along with previously released RUFFLED PEONY BOUQUET:

It's a fabulous release, so head over to Picket Fence Studios to see it all! There is MUCH MORE to check out! Be sure to stop back this week for details on my cards, and a PFS Giveaway from ME!

Mermaid Escape!

I absolutely love this June Paper Door Kit from Whimsy Stamps: MERMAIDS!

There are only a handful of kits left - everyone else loves it too, and they are almost SOLD OUT! So grab yours before it's too late!

Here are two cards I have made. The first uses the amazing papers that come with the kit:
Aren't those jellies the cutest? I did stamp the sentiment and the bubbles in the circle - and those come with the kit too!

My second card for today is made using the bonus stamp set: Dreamy Mermaid. If I were a mermaid, I would be a pink one! I wanted this to be all sparkly, so added Nuvo Glitter Pen to her tail, and made a panel of glitter cardstock.

The background is a smooshed watercolor panel. I colored the mermaid tail with Copic markers. Find all the details of the Paper Door Kit HERE! And be sure to grab one of the last kits before they disappear!

Freshly Made Sketches #392

It's Wednesday and time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! Jacquie is our hostess for this week's sketch, which had me stumped for awhile! I wanted a one layer card, and in the end, it almost turned out that way! Take a peek:

I made my background for another project using Distress Inks and smooshing, but it didn't turn out like I wanted. So into the "envelope" it went. Today when I looked, I thought it made the perfect background for this bird I have been wanting to use. Grass and sky and a little abstract - which matches the art style of the bird.  Don't miss that little heart1 See it?

I added the chipboard flowers from my stash (that was the challenging part for me - to find the right thing), and it's ready to mail!

I hope you will join us! Our challenge is open until 3 PM EDT on Monday! Click on the links on the FMS blog by each photo to see what my teammates have created on their blogs!

It's Wedding Season!

Welcome to the DIY Wedding Blog Hop with CutCardStock! Today the Design Team is sharing all sorts of wedding decor, accessories, invitations, wearables, thank-yous, and congratulatory cards to celebrate the June Wedding Season!

There is a $40 Gift Card to CutCardStock up for grabs that will go to one lucky hopper! To be eligible, readers must comment at each stop along the hop. If there are broken links, or you get stuck, head back to the beginning HERE. The entire hop list will be at the end of this post. The winner will be randomly selected and announced on Monday June 10 on the CutCardstock Blog and Facebook page.

I usually give a gift card to wherever the couple is registered for a wedding gift, so I love to make the wedding card that holds that gift. Today I am using stamps from Rubber Stamp Tapestry -- one block sentiment and three tiny peg stamps to create the floral sprays. The peg stamps are about the size of my little fingernail or smaller, and I love creating different designs each time I use them.
You can see in the photos above some of the steps, and my practice sheet for stamping. I used various inks from my collection, and stamped on Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock. My card is a horizontal standard A2 size. Everything is held together with Scor-Tape.

I cut an oval for my wedding "wreath." The first stamping step was the block LOVE, and then I added little flowers and leaves in a rather haphazardly planned way to create the floral sprays. For embellishment, I added ruffled ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon for a wedding garter look, and some pearls throughout the spray and around the "O", because they are elegant, and also my favorite! Can you find them all? There are 13!

I love being able to personalize each wedding card with the couple's colors, or something special just for them. It's much nicer than a store bought card - or a cheap gift card holder from Target!

I'm so glad you stopped by today! Next up is Teri Wilson. You are sure to love what she has to show you!

Cat Hair, Anyone?

Happy Friday!
It's going to be a beautiful day here in the Central Plains! I am always motivated to straighten or declutter when the weather is nice. Not for long, mind you, ha! But today will be a declutter hour or so. And maybe I will get out the vacuum and clean up some pet hair. No cats here - just two dogs and a turtle, but if I did have a cat.... well, it would have an attitude like Sasha Kitten here:
What's your day look like?

Freshly Made Sketches #391

It's Wednesday and time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! Amy is our hostess this week, and her sketch has so many possibilities!

Today I am using a new to me stamp set from Unity Stamp Co. called Hello There Bear.

I stamped with Altenew Jet Black ink, and colored with Copic markers. I added some sparkle to each duck with a Nuvo Glitter Pen. The cute paper is from Reverse Confetti, and the cloud die is Whimsy Stamps. Doesn't that bear look like he's confuddled? And so cute!

June Rainbow Card Challenge

Happy June, Cardmakers! Have you seen the new challenge at the Rainbow Card Challenge? This month is one of my very favorites: RAINBOW! And it's the neon kind, which is even better, since it has pink!

I am using Let's Shake Our Tail Feathers from Picket Fence Studios. Isn't that image gorgeous? Distress Oxide Inks plus Life Changing Brushes equal an awesome, fun neon rainbow background! I added a few little hearts for embellishments.

Be sure to join us and play along. It's so fun to see what everyone makes, and what wonderful ideas you all have!
