It's Wednesday and time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!
Our hostess this week is Amy!
I typed in today's date for my blog post, and was brought up short because Christmas is in a WEEK! Oh my goodness. No, I am not ready. I am not even ready for today! :)
But I am ready for this week's sketch!
We make jokes on the team about who doesn't like circles, and who has a hard time with things like today's wonky panels. It's fun to see what types of shapes and sketches are hard for each of us! I struggled a few weeks ago with a design that was simple for most everyone else, but today's idea came right away! That's always good. Especially when Christmas is in a week! EEK!
I had these new-to-me MFT dies sitting on my table, and when I was thinking up an idea for today's sketch, I knew I wanted to squeeze in another holiday card!
I used some gorgeous Peacock metallic cardstock from CutCardStock for the sentiment strip and background panel, and some beautiful paper from Momenta for the main panel. I cut the dove, branch, and sentiment out of Hammermill White cardstock, and voila! A ten minute card! The gluing of the sentiment took the longest. I used my favorite Connect Glue from Gina K. Designs, LLC.
I hope you will join us with your take on the sketch this week! Our challenge is open until 3 PM EST on Monday, January 6. More time to create! Click on the links on the FMS blog by each photo to see what my teammates have created on their blogs!
It's an exciting day for Picket Fence Studios - the December Release! There are so MANY amazing products in this
release - new stencils, stamps, and coordinating dies - plus foiling
plates!
Today I am sharing one of the new stencils: Quatrefoil Bouquet. It is such a beautiful stencil that could be used for so many occasions. My card today is a wedding card.
I
used my Life Changing Brushes with Bundled Sage Distress Oxide ink.
Isn't is a lovely design? My Always Word Die is cut from Curious
Metallic Cardstock (CutCardStock), and the card base is the same. I
added a crocheted butterfly (Martha Stewart) and a few rhinestones for
bling.
It's a fabulous release, so head over to Picket Fence Studios
to see it all! There is so MUCH MORE to check out! And I will see you
back tomorrow for more of the new release!
It's Wednesday and time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!
Our hostess this week is Narelle!
I have had this delightful patterned paper from Harmonie in my stash for at least four years. It's so cute I didn't want to cut into it. But today's sketch gave the perfect opportunity to show off these adorable polar bears and their sweet faces. I added a sentiment from Taylored Expressions, and some of my favorite Krenik silver thread for the second side element. A little sparkle from some
silver glitter cardstock, and it's a perfect little greeting to mail! As you can see, I turned the sketch on its side.
I hope you will join us with your take on the sketch this week! Our challenge is open until 3 PM EDT on Monday. Click on the links on the FMS blog by each photo to see what my teammates have created on their blogs!
It's Wednesday and time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! Our hostess this week is Karren, and she has designed a fun, contemporary sketch that leaves a lot of room for your creative designing!
I
am using some new Paper Smooches dies for today's card and also entering this in the November "Anything Goes" Challenge on their blog. The Lovely Snowflakes and hearts were cut from a brayer cleaning sheet I had for cleaning acrylic paint off of my brayer. The Let It Snow sentiment fit perfectly with the sketch! For background texture, I added a dry embossed background of snow. A little sparkle from some silver glitter cardstock, and it's a perfect little greeting to mail!
