Freshly Made Sketches #424

It's Wednesday, and that means a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! Today's hostess is Jen B.
I changed from a landscape to a portrait sketch, but kept everything else right where it should be!

Tomorrow I have some VERY special visitors arriving - my son, his lovely wife, and my two grandchildren! I can hardly wait to see them. I haven't seen my son in over a year! They will be staying for ten days. In that time, we are celebrating my daughter's 27th birthday, and my grandson's 2nd! I made this card for his birthday using images from the new Visible Image release.

I absolutely LOVE the new stamps and stencils from Visible Image Stamps, and especially love this little robot from ROBOT DATA. I began by blending a circle using my Blender Brushes and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink, then stamping the corner designs (one from ROBOT DATA and one from the new TOTAL CHAOS) in VersaFine Clair Nocturne. I stamped my robot with Altenew's Black ink, and then colored with my Copics. Once I had finished, I overstamped with VersaFine Clair Nocturne for a sharper look, and then cut him out.

I added the banner from the DCWV All About Boys 12x12 stack. A BEEP! in VersaFine Clair Verdant was the perfect complement. The inside says HAPPY BIRTHDAY in the same font. The card base shines with Curious Metallic cardstock.

I hope you will join us with your take on the sketch this week! Our challenge is open until 3 PM EST on Monday, March 2. Click on the links on the FMS blog by each photo to see what lovely things my teammates have created on their blogs!

February Release for Picket Fence Studios!

It's an exciting day for Picket Fence Studios - it's Release Day! I adore this release and I know you will too. There are so MANY amazing products in this release - new stencils, stamps, and coordinating dies, including new word dies - plus the brand new Paper Glaze AND I have a 20% off code, so keep reading!

Today I have two cards to share using a variety of new products! The main stamp set is called Watercolor Trees and Bushes. I know you are going to love the set!

My first uses Distress Oxide Inks, and VersaFine Clair Morning Mist ink. I smooshed my Picked Raspberry (I know - it looks like a mauve color!) onto my craft sheet, spritzed with water, and then stamped my trees in the wet ink, and onto my paper. It gave a very impressionistic watercolor look to them. When dry, I inked up the same tree stamp, and using my MISTI, stamped slightly off from the watercolor version.

The sentiment is from the new Favorite Notification set (SO fun!). I distressed my edges, matted with some gray cardstock, and finally a matching mauve colored cardstock. My embellishments are enamel dots and beautiful silver thread. I love the look of the pink trees in the background, don't you?

The second is a more traditional look for the trees, on top of the new Funky Leaves Stencil with VersaFine Clair Nocturne.

The "hello" is from the new Fancy Sentiments set (BEAUTIFUL and a DT favorite!) and the sentiment on green is again from Favorite Notification. I inked the background using my Life Changing Blender Brushes and two DOX inks: Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint. A few black rhinestones complete the card!

It's a simply fabulous release, so head over to Picket Fence Studios to see it all! There is so MUCH MORE to check out! And here is a 20% off code through Sunday, 2/16: HEART20. Shop {HERE}.

I will see you back tomorrow for more cardmaking ideas!

Freshly Made Sketches #422

It's Wednesday, and that means a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! Today's hostess is Linda. My FMS teamies made so many different kinds of designs, I think you are going to enjoy this sketch. Lots of possibilities!

I have been blessed to be on many design teams over the years. But my very first one will always hold a special place in my heart, and I still love their images. So for this week's sketch, I have chosen the MIME clear stamp set from Hambo Stamps. It's the perfect valentine for this theater girl. You can find the entire set HERE.

I stamped with Altenew's Black ink, and then colored with my Copics. Red is always scary for me, because it's hard to fix a mistake! Once I had finished, I overstamped with VersaFine Clair Nocturne for a sharper look. I added some white mini ric rac down the side.

I hope you will join us with your take on the sketch this week! Our challenge is open until 3 PM EST on Monday, February 17. Click on the links on the FMS blog by each photo to see what lovely things my teammates have created on their blogs!

Birds of a Different Feather

Today I am sharing two creations with products from Picket Fence Studios - both birds, and both very different!

The first is a watercolored background with the new Peacock Beauty die. It's a full cover plate with so many possibilities for design. I used Hammermill White CS for the cover, and it cut perfectly!

Next up is the stamp set, Beauty and Song -- a beautiful floral and bird image with sentiments. I blended a background using my Life Changing Blender Brushes and three Distress Oxide Inks, then embossed with White EP from WOW! The sentiment is stamped with VersaFine Clair Nocturne. I used Curious Metallic CS from CutCardStock for the card base.

Sweet Flowers for Picking

Today I am sharing a one of the new stamp sets from the January Creativation Release for Picket Fence Studios. What a fabulous release! I hope you have had a chance to check it out. If not, any of the stamp links below my post will take you there!

For this card I used the adorable FLOWERS FOR PICKING. Now, if you look through my work, you won't see a lot of flower images. I love them, I just don't usually stamp with them for some reason. But these are so cute and fun to color.

I made a monochrome card using a favorite color family, and colored the flowers with my alcohol markers. Then I cut them out using the coordinating dies, and made a round card. I had a scrap of patterned paper that matched, and added a sentiment from the previously released BECAUSE.

And because we all like sparkle without the mess, I added some shimmer with my Glitter Pen to all the flower centers. The card base is my favorite shimmery silver cardstock from CutCardStock (Curious Metallic Ice Silver).

These flowers make such a sweet greeting!

Freshly Made Sketches #421

It's Wednesday, and that means a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! Today's hostess is Jen M. with a classic circle and square combination.

For such a seemingly easy sketch, I had a hard time deciding what to do. I think because it's such a great sketch, I had too many ideas. But I finally went with this cute Waffle Lot set from Technique Tuesday. I had not had the chance to ink it up, and I have had it awhile, so it was a good choice!

I colored the waffle with Copics, and being in a hurry, was squeezing too hard and had dark brown ink blobs in places I didn't want them. So -- rather than starting over, I just made do with a waffle that is darkly cooked! I then cut it out so I could pop it up on my dry embossed background. The sentiment was cut with a wonky stitched frame, and also popped up. I added a few hearts to complete the sketch.

I hope you will join us with your take on the sketch this week! Our challenge is open until 3 PM EST on Monday, February 10. Click on the links on the FMS blog by each photo to see what lovely things my teammates have created on their blogs!
