Creating With the June Die of the Month from Brutus Monroe

This week some of the DT at Brutus Monroe are sharing projects made with the June Die of the Month: Flower Burst!

I knew when I saw it that I wanted it to have a sparkly background, so I paired it with some of the pink sparkle cardstock in my stash. I added some pearls to the flower center, and a sentiment from Extra Sentimental cut with the Circle Foundation dies.

It's a beautiful cover plate and can have many different looks. Check out the Brutus Monroe Facebook page and Instagram for more inspiration using Flower Burst!

Freshly Made Sketches #441

It's Wednesday, and that means a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! It is my pleasure to host the challenge this week!

I recently received the Brighter Days dies from Concord & 9th, and thought they were perfect for today's sketch.

I had a little bit left of this fun patterned paper with hearts (Bella Blvd.) and it was perfect for the Color Throwdown #599 this week too. This came together quickly, and I know I will be using these dies frequently to send snail mail cheer!

I hope you will join us with your take on the sketch this week! Our challenge is open until 3 PM EDT on Monday, June 29. Click on the links on the FMS blog by each photo to see what lovely things my teammates have created on their blogs!

Bees are Beautiful -- and CUTE!

My husband and I will celebrate our 38th anniversary next month. And it's really a miracle. Because -- on our very first "date," we got lost, drove around looking for his family for hours, and finally, when we meet them for a picnic (for which I fried a WHOLE chicken, made all sorts of salads and desserts), I get stung by a bee. Not once, but TWICE!! And I am allergic. It's actually a funny story to us now, and we wonder how we got to Date #2!

Even though I am allergic to them, I am always drawn to cute little bees, bee sayings, tees, and adorable bee images, like these from Dare 2B Artzy - BUZZY BEEZ and the matching dies!
The patterned paper (ALL THE BUZZ) matches perfectly! I made a smooshed ink background for my hexagon tag (Reverse Confetti) and then cut two little bee hive dies from black cardstock. I stamped the bees on white cardstock and colored them with Copics, then popped them up with foam tape, as well as the tag, and the sweet sentiment. Isn't it the cutest?

The Visible Image June Release is Here!

It's so exciting to have new stamps in the house! I received my new Visible Image Stamps all the way from Wales just last night, and this morning made a CAS (Clean and Simple) colorful card. I used the brand new EQUALITY HOPE & LOVE sentiment set with the previously released SHAPE IT UP background stamp set.

I used several different Simon Hurley inks, and three of the background stamps.  You can see the entire new release HERE.

I am excited to spend some time with the others and have more time to play! Hope to see you back again soon!

Turtle-y Goodness!

Hello everyone!

I ADORE this month's Stamp and Stencil of the Month from Brutus Monroe! I might be a little biased, as I have a pet turtle. You can read more about him later in the post. But first! Let's get to my card for today, which is full of cuteness and sparkly goodness!
This adorable turtle duo is the stamp for the June Stamp Club Membership. I love having a little something new each month, and this membership takes care of that! And it's only $5 including shipping!

I stamped my image with Raven Detail Ink, and then colored in with alcohol markers. I fussy cut them out, and popped them up on the beautiful shell stencil from the Stencil of the Month Club. I used two Simon Hurley ink colors: Clear Skies and Minty Fresh. Perfect colors for the sea!

And here is my sweet turtle, Raph. He is Raphael the Ninja Turtle and is a red eared slider! He is about the size of a large salad plate. We have had him for over 25 years.
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope to see you back soon!

Freshly Made Sketches #439

It's Wednesday, and that means a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! Amy is our hostess for today, and has created a wonderful sketch for you to try!

I am sharing a quick and easy thank you card. I started by using Simon Hurley Minty Fresh ink and the Watercolor Brush Strokes Stencil from Picket Fence Studios.
I used my Blender Brushes to blend the ink for a subtle background. Then I chose one of the die cuts from the Paper Smooches Rainbow Sherbet collection and popped it up with foam tape. I actually flipped the sketch. Two matching layers of cardstock and it's ready to mail!

I hope you will join us with your take on the sketch this week! Our challenge is open until 3 PM EDT on Monday, June 22. Click on the links on the FMS blog by each photo to see what lovely things my teammates have created on their blogs!

Sending a Cup of Comfort

A quick post today to share a card I am sending to a friend this week! I love this mug, don't you? It's from a cute little set by Unity Stamp Co. called Mug of Hugs. I think it packs a punch in black and white!

I stamped my images with VersaFine Clair Nocturne and added some of my fun washi tapes. I need to use those more. I love the look and the fun patterns!

I am playing in the Tic Tac Toe Challenge this week with the bottom line of black/white, single/layer, and free.

Have a great week!

It's Release Day at Picket Fence Studios!

It's always an exciting day for Picket Fence Studios when it's Release Day! The June release has some really unique products that I know you are going to love!

Today I am sharing three cards for today's post; two are made with the new Fruitylicious stamp. While this fruit could be any citrus, I chose to make two lime cards today, because limes are my favorite citrus fruit.

The first is a cute shaker card using the Gin and Tonic Sequin Mix. You will love the new mixes -- different sizes and shapes, all in a beautiful easy-to-see packaging!
I stamped with VersaMark ink, and then embossed with Bullfrog EP. I colored with Copic markers, making one of the limes stand out with brighter colors, and Stickles around the rind. I added some fun lime patterned paper for a little interest on the back panel. My sentiment is from the previously released Pucker Up.

My next card shows how easy it is to increase the 4x4 size, and line up the images beautifully in the repeating pattern using the MISTI.
I again embossed with the Bullfrog EP, and colored with Copics, using a brighter palette. My sentiment is stamped in VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink. I added three strands of Krenik silver metallic thread between the two panels.

My final card today is also food related -- from the new Cooking is Art with a partial background using the new Triple Weave Stencil.

I used Gina K's Blue Raspberry ink with my stencil and Life Changing Blender Brushes. I stamped the chef in Black Hybrid ink and colored with Copics. I fussy cut him out, and popped him up with foam tape. The sentiment is stamped with VersaFine Clair Morning Mist.

It's a simply fabulous release, so head over to Picket Fence Studios to see it all! There is so MUCH MORE to check out! Shop {HERE} or click one of the links below!

Don't miss the BIG RETIREMENT SALE going on too! Lots of fabulous products at slashed prices. Grab them before they are gone!

Of course, all this new stuff has me playing in the NBUS Challenge this month!

I hope to see you again soon for more cardmaking ideas!

Hey all!
Today I am sharing a sparkly birthday greeting with Key Lime Glitter Glaze, Mixed Media Tread Stencil, and a sentiment from Super Sentimental -- all from Brutus Monroe!
I used a part of the stencil with the glaze. I stamped my sentiment and hearts with VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink. I added a purchased flower from Prima and some black satin ribbon for embellishments. A simple greeting with some zing!

Let's Shellebrate!

Hello friends!

Today I am sharing images from the adorable SEA YOU SOON 6x8 stamp set from Brutus Monroe. Such fun images and so many things to compliment the set.....like the gorgeous SEA SPARKLE 6x6 paper pad. What amazing designs to create your underwater scenes!

I stamped on PERFECT BLEND ALCOHOL MARKER CARDSTOCK with RAVEN DETAIL INK, and then colored my mermaid with alcohol markers.
I used two of the paper designs with my mermaid, and added a few metallic sequins here and there for added sparkle. You really must check out all of the mermaid and underwater goodies, because there are so many fabulous products!

Freshly Made Sketches #438

It's Wednesday, and that means a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! Karren is our hostess for today, and has created a wonderful sketch for you to try!

Today I am using some new goodies from Stampin' Up -- the World of Good Suite Collection with Beautiful World stamps.
I used a vellum panel for the sketch triangle so the patterned map paper would show through. This is a perfect graduation card!
I hope you will join us with your take on the sketch this week! Our challenge is open until 3 PM EDT on Monday. Click on the links on the FMS blog by each photo to see what lovely things my teammates have created on their blogs!

It's Wedding Season! Simple, Elegant, Quick!

It's June and that means wedding season! Even if the circumstances change for how those ceremonies happen, I do have need for a couple of wedding cards this month.

I love this gorgeous stencil by Picket Fence Studios. It's called Flowers in a Heart Stencil, and makes beautiful, simple, and elegant looking greetings! I used Peacock Feathers Distress Ink and my Blender Brushes on the stencil. I stamped a sentiment from Fancy Sentiments on top with Nocturne ink. I love the way it turned out!

My color inspiration came from this week's Color Throwdown #595:
Hope your June is warm and sunny and that you're staying healthy!
