Festive Friday #0071

Happy Friday!

Today there is a new challenge up at Festive Friday! We're celebrating World Kindness Day (November 13) , and using our fabulous Inspo List #FF0071 to inspire us (below). If you are new to the FF Challenges, you can choose any three items (or more!) from our list to inspire your creativity. Your card does not have to be about World Kindness Day in particular.

Today I am using the beautiful floral set, A Bluebonnet, from Picket Fence Studios. While this set is now retired, it's one of my favorites for loose, easy watercolor, which is what I used today to color my flowers.

I chose these three items from the Inspo List: pearls, flowers, sentiment. The sentiment is an excerpt from a Tom Petty song called "Wildflowers":
You belong among the wildflowers
You belong in a boat out at sea
You belong with your love on your arm
You belong somewhere you feel free

I hope you will join us for this challenge. Remember, you can choose any three from the list, for any occasion or theme! And what a fun list! You can add your entries to the gallery until November 9.

Hello everyone! It's Wednesday, when I get to share the new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! Jen B is our fabulous hostess for this week. She's gave us a challenge with the diagonals, but I love how my card turned out.

I used two contrasting patterned papers from The Paper Studio, and a die cut from MFT Stamps. I added green and yellow sequins for bling!

I hope you will join our sketch challenge this week, and add your creations to our gallery! You have until Monday, at 3 PM Eastern time to join us! Be sure to stop at the Freshly Made Sketches blog, and click on the names of my teammates to see what beauty they have created this week!

Guest Designing with Dare 2 B Artzy Week 2

I have had a lot of fun creating with the new Harmony Stamp Set from Dare 2B Artzy the last couple of weeks. Today I am sharing a card made with the jewel tones of fall. My little town is supposed to get 4 inches of snow tomorrow, and no matter the date, that signifies winter for me. So today are the colors of mums, leaves, and.... togetherness!

I started by cutting a fish tail banner out of the beautiful aqua floral from the All the Buzz Collection of 12 x 12 papers. Next is a colorful contrast (and my favorite color of fall mums) in a circle cut with the Double Dot Circle Framelit Die. I used VersaMark ink and stamped the hand with the heart, following the circle patterns.  I adhered this to my banner, and tied some twine around both.

Next I stamped my sentiment on Kraft cardstock, and rounded the corners using some VERY old scissors (before we had punches and dies!). I still have all my original patterned scissors. I popped this up with foam tape onto the circle at a slight angle, and added two kinds of metallic sequins for bling. A bright corrugated background brings in the gold of fall. I had some lovely purchased vellum leaves, and added those to pull all the colors together.

I almost added my "tag" to a little kraft gift bag, which would also look super cute for a friend, but in the end, kept it a card. I may make my tagged bag yet, though!

Freshly Made Sketches #458

Hello everyone! It's Wednesday, when I get to share the new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! Kim is our fabulous hostess for this week. Her landscape sketch has a lot of space for interpretation, and I think you'll have a lot of fun with it.

I have a very simple CAS design and some die cut leaves for my card this week. I started by masking off a section of three rectangles using Purple Tape. I used Tea Dye and Festive Berries DOX ink and blended them toward the center.

I flipped the sketch (and then forgot a layer - oops!), and put my sentiment from Bird of Paradise (Picket Fence Studios) on the left side with VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink. I cut five leaves - three from Memory Box patterned paper, and two from Crumb Cake (Stampin' Up!) cardstock using the new OAK LEAVES DIE from PFS. I added a Plum Kaiser Pearl in the middle. Super simple, but a mailable card for fall!

I hope you will join our sketch challenge this week, and add your creations to our gallery! You have until Monday, October 12, at 3 PM Eastern time to join us! Be sure to stop at the Freshly Made Sketches blog, and click on the names of my teammates to see what beauty they have created this week!

I am also entering this in The Color Throwdown this week!

Picket Fence Studios is Buzzing with Fun!

Today I want to share a fun card from Picket Fence Studios with a buzzing bee theme! This month's October Release has some really fun bee themed stamps and stencils, and I am sharing one of them today!

First up this week is Honey Dear, a fun single stamp with a sweet sentiment.

I stamped with Black Hybrid Ink, and then colored in using my Copics. I gave the entire image and outline in B000. I cut it out with the coordinating die, and adhered it to my sentiment stamped patterned paper. A little gold thread, some shimmer for the wings (Nuvo Glimmer Pen) and done!

A precious card with a sweet sentiment for my granddaughter! You can see the entire October release {HERE}. Happy Shopping!

Guest Designing With Dare 2B Artzy

I am excited to be Guest Designing for Dare 2 B Artzy this week and next! I chose the new Harmony Stamp Set to play with this week.

It includes five sentiments, music notes, three hands and a row of people.

I stamped my people with Totally Black ink and colored the images using my Arteza Alcohol markers. My shadow "floor" was made with Stormy Sky DOX ink. I used my MISTI to line up the second stamp of people to create a long enough line for the landscape card.

I created a fishtail banner, and layered it with one of the pretty papers from the All the Buzz Collection of 12 x 12 papers. I used some of the same patterned paper on the black card base to tie it all together.  I loved coloring these fabulous group of friends. The many sentiments make it a perfect set to add to your collection!

Favorites From Visible Image Stamps!

Today I want to share some creations using Visible Image Stamps and Stencils!

First up is this fall design using INTO THE WOODS and a trio of Distress Oxides for the background. I stamped my tree and word images with VersaFine Sepia ink. I love the clean look of this card.

Next up is another CAS in my favorite color - pink! This card uses the beautiful DAISY DAISY STENCIL, and subtle elements from CREATIVE CHAOS (to represent mistakes). I used Spun Sugar DOX ink for the stenciling. The sentiment is from VOICES IN YOUR HEAD. I added iridescent rhinestones to the daisy’s center. Isn't that a great message?

And finally, a gorgeous leaf design using the AUTUMN LEAVES STENCIL with a watercolor background using various DOX greens. The sentiment is from GO TO WORDS, beautiful script sentiments for all occasions.

I just ADORE the stamps and stencils that Visible Image has -- and the owners, Mark and Helen, are the nicest people you will meet! You can check out the products I used at the links below.

Festive Friday #0070

Happy Friday!

Today there is a new challenge up at Festive Friday! We're celebrating National Cappucino Day (November 8) , and using our fabulous Inspo List to inspire us. If you are new to the FF Challenges, you can choose any three items (or more!) from our list to inspire your creativity. Your card does not have to be about coffee.

I do love coffee -- so my card today is all about coffee! I am using the new Sponsored by Coffee stamp set from Picket Fence Studios. My choices from the Inspo List are hot drink theme, sequins, ribbon/twine, die cut, cream/ivory, and brown.

I stamped my image with Brutus Monroe Raven ink, and then colored it with Copics, keeping a teal and cappuccino colored theme. I cut it out with the coordinating die. My card base is Neenah Desert Storm cardstock, and a watercolor background with Speckled Egg, Tumbled Glass, and Peacock Feathers. I stamped the sentiment ("coffee is always better with a friend") directly on the background with VersaFine Onyx Black ink, and added a trio of sequins from PFS. A little webbed twine for embellishment finishes the card.

I hope you will join us for this challenge. Remember, you can choose any three from the list, for any occasion or theme! And what a fun list! You can add your entries until October 26th.

Picket Fence Studios October Release is Here with Freshly Made Sketches #457

Happy Wednesday, the 14th! Two awesome days for stampers! The October Picket Fence Studios release is here and it's one of my favorites! Today I am sharing a trio of cards made with the new Maple Leaves Dies, and one of them uses this week's new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!

All of my cards today are using the same color scheme and style - clean and simple, along with inchies! You can find the entire release HERE. Happy Shopping!

All of the leaves were made with a "brayer cleaning sheet" from my Gel Press printmaking days awhile back. I love how they turned out. I like the touch of pink with the fall orange, red, and gold. First up is a card using the larger of the dies, and a sentiment from Dad's Day.

My second card uses the smaller of the Maple Leaves Die, and a sentiment from Weathering the Storm Together.

Here is the brayer sheet as I started cutting.

And finally, the third of the trio uses the new Thank You for Being You stamp set, as well as the larger die. This is also my sketch sample this week for the new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!

Linda is our hostess for this week's sketch, and it has so much room for interpretation. The challenge is open until October 19.

Sweet Little Birds

Happy Friday, everyone!

Today I am sharing a sweet card made with products from Impression Obsession. I adore their stamps and dies!

For my main image, I chose Three Birds (E19968). I stamped with Brutus Monroe Raven ink, and then colored in with Copic markers. I chose fall colors for my birdies. I used the awesome Stitched Speech Border (DIE992-R) to draw attention to the sentiment from Humble & Kind (CL1031-retired).

I am entering this in the current IO Challenge: You're a Hoot (Owls and Birds). Have a great weekend!

Festive Friday FF#0069

Happy Friday!

Today there is a new challenge up at Festive Friday! We're celebrating National Cat Day, and using our fabulous Inspo List to inspire us. If you are new to the FF Challenges, you can choose any three items (or more!) from our list to inspire your creativity. Your card does not have to be about National Cat Day.

I do love my "grand cat" - so I made a card in honor of him today. From the Inspo List, I chose cat, pet sentiment, mice/fish, and circles.

I love the Bokeh Layering Stencil from Taylored Expressions, and started there, with three coordinating colors of DOX inks. Once they were dry, I stamped my images from the adorable cat2stamp set from The {Stamps} of Life. Super cute and cheery!

I hope you will join us for this challenge. Remember, you can choose any three from the list, for any occasion or theme! And what a fun list! You can add your entries until October 12th.
