Festive Friday #FF0081 Earth Day Celebration!

Happy Friday! I hope you have had a good week!

Today there is a new challenge up at Festive Friday! We are celebrating Earth Day (April 22)! Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First held on April 22, 1970, it now includes a wide range of events coordinated globally by EARTHDAY.ORG including 1 billion people in more than 193 countries!

If you are new to the FF Challenges, you can choose any three items (or more!) from our list to inspire your creativity. Your card does not have to be about Earth Day in particular. For my card this week, I chose green, trees (branches anyway!), and clean and simple from the list.

I started with an acrylic block background -- adding the ink to a block and spritzing with water, then stamping onto my cardstock. I used two different colors of greens for this. I chose a fun sentiment from Birthday Word Art (Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps) that could be used for a birthday or graduation and stamped it using VersaFine Onyx Black ink. I then stamped my branches (Scribble Flowers, also SNSS) and colored them with Copic markers. I added a few little dots here and there in the background for interest (also from Scribble Flowers). The branches are popped up with foam tape.

I hope you will join us for this challenge and link up on the Festive Friday blog. Remember, you can choose any three from the list below, for any occasion or theme! The challenge is open until Monday, April 12.

  1. I LOVE your card, Judy. The design is wonderful and I love the smooshed strip and the fresh springy feel.

  2. Love, love, love your card, Judy! It's so clean...and fresh! Great color choices! The sentiment placement partially within the horizontal strip is awesome! Have a wonderful weekend!
