Come Join the March Rainbow Card Challenge!

Happy March, Cardmakers! Have you seen the new challenge at the Rainbow Card Challenge? This month is Yummy Yellows!

I stamped five bees in a row on Heavyweight White CS (Hobby Lobby), using the two-step stamping technique. I stamped the gold bodies first, then the overlay of black detail and wings. I used a stencil and lightly (and randomly) sponged over the bees in different directions with a brighter yellow ink. The fifth bee I cut out using the matching die (Dragonfly Dreams from Stampin' Up!) and layered it on my second bee above. You can see a little shadow underneath from being popped up using 3D Foam Tabs.

I adhered all my panels using Scor-Tape (I like the 1/4" and 3/8") and then stamped my sentiment. It is three separate words from a retired stamp set by The Alley Way Stamps. I love the play on words with "bee." I then wrapped my Metallic Gold Baker's Twine several times around the left side (this card opens like a book), added a heart charm (that matches the bees' gold), and tied a simple bow.

And it's ready to mail!
Be sure to join us and play along. It's so fun to see what everyone makes, and what wonderful ideas you all have!

Birdy Thanks

It's time for another challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges! I am sharing a cute little shaker card I made using stamps from The Alley Way Stamps (no longer in business, but I love the stamps!) and dies from MFT and Li'l Inkers.
Aren't these birds adorable?! I thought the patterned paper looked like bird feathers. I stamped in Archival Black (SU!) and then colored in my birds with Copic markers. Come play along with us at Crazy 4 Challenges!

Summer is Here!

Today is my first official day of summer! WOOT!  And I am on my way to Utah to see my daughter for a week! We had two wonderful talent shows at my school yesterday with acts from piano to magic tricks to tap dance to flag line to string quintet. All sorts of fun things. But now I am ready for a vacation!  So last night I was BUZZING around trying to get ready to go!

It's Thursday, and that means a fabulous sketch from Jen - Deconstructed Sketch 52:
I used the ADORABLE bee from The Alley Way Stamps' Priceless Joy set. I stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored in using Copic Markers Y02, Y08, C3 and BV29. The chipboard letters were stamped with Charcoal VersaMark ink and then embossed with Midnight Madness and Firefly Embossing Powder.I have Crystal Stickles on the bee's wings.

The Deconstructed Sketch girls have some terrific samples to show, so be sure to have a visit at their blogs too!

To play along, link up your sketch creation HERE!

Thanks for stopping by today! Tomorrow is a super fun blog hop with Hambo Stamps, beginning at 7:00 AM CST.
