Here are a few pictures I took in North Carolina. This first one was out the front window of the car on Sunday morning as we were on our way to church. I loved the foggy mist! This was about 8:00 a.m., and by noon, it was all sunshine again!
And here is my son's cute kitty, "Crayon." She was a doll - although very shy. He has only had her a week!

Here is a picture of my son, Steven, and me, after his jazz band concert. He had three solos, one of which was most of the song. It was a real joy to hear him play. He is a junior in college, and we have not heard him play in a group since he graduated from high school! I was so happy to be able to go and hear him, and also meet his friends and church family. It was also really fun to travel to Ft. Bragg and meet Deb! It was a great trip!

As for the Marching Band Competition, my daughter's band won
First Place in the Parade Marching and took home the
Sweepstakes trophy for best performance of the day!! It was awesome! They played and looked great! Here is a picture of her band waiting to come on the field for their show, and one of her playing her "baby" bass drum. They have 177 members.

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to come back tomorrow for the Hambo DT Challenge and my weekly House Mouse & Friends project!

Oh! I sure love a good marching band. Probably ties from my own marching band days. Go band!

ReplyDeleteawesome about the band stuff. My kids were in band. I remember going to the concerts...and I seriously would have to hold back the tears everytime! Not just for my kids...but all the kids. It always melts my heart to see the kids "making music" :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats to your daughter for taking 1st place and for your son's solos. Both my kids are heavily into music too. My daughter is vocal performance major at college, and my son plans to be a percussion major. The kitty is ADORABLE!!! Glad you had such a good time.
ReplyDeleteJudy, it sounds like we have parallel lives! My son is a junior music/french horn major at UNC.We just went to his Wind Ensemble concert last Sun where he had several solos. Is your son at UNC too? My daughter is a senior and the colorguard captain in her high school marching band.(She also plays flute in the Wind Ensemble.) They had a competition on Sat. and took first place in their class. Does any of this sound familiar??? LOL
ReplyDeleteI love your blog! Your creations are so wonderful and just my style! Thanks for sharing.
