Festive Friday #0085

Today there is a new challenge up at Festive FridayIf you are new to the FF Challenges, you can choose any three items (or more!) from our list to inspire your creativity. For my card this week, I chose circle, bright colors, clouds, and embossing

I started by creating my sky with the Layers of Clouds Stencil (Picket Fence Studios) and a couple of pink DOX inks. I stamped the sentiment from I Am A Hugger (also PFS) in VersaFine Clair Nocturne. I stamped and colored the cute girls from the same set using Copic markers. I cut them out and adhered them to a circle that had been a "brush cleaning" piece of cardstock. I thought it had the perfect sky and grass colors! I added a few sequins for bling.

I hope you will join us for this challenge and link up on the Festive Friday blog. Remember, you can choose any three from the list below, for any occasion or theme! The challenge is open until Monday, June 7.

Freshly Made Sketches #487

Happy Wednesday! It's time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. The very talented Jen T is our hostess this week, with a slimline card for you!

About seven times a year, my work gets very busy, so I had to miss last week, but am glad to be back! I am the Executive Director of our community theater, and the last two weeks we have had a production with nine performances. I put in many 12-14 hour days during the run, and had to take a break from card making. It was so great to be back in the theater, and hear our audiences laughing every night. The show was "Noises Off." I was super proud of my husband, who was the director, and also my daughter, who played Belinda. It's a funny movie as well, with Carol Burnett and many more name stars. Carol was always one of my favorites growing up. I loved her show. Anyway, on to my card for this week!

I absolutely LOVE this Cummerbund embossing powder, inspired by Catherine Pooler and from WOW! Embossing. It has the loveliest sparkle and beautiful lighter teal color. I cut the Waterbrush Hello (Altenew) out three times on Pool Party (SU!) cardstock, and then embossed the adhered stack. I cut the flowers/leaves out of various colors and textures and arranged them on a very lightly ink blended card base. I used the remaining ink in my blending brush, so it's a combination of several blues, I am sure!

I hope you will join our sketch challenge this week, and add your creations to our gallery! There is a lot of space to play with. This challenge will end at 3:00 EDT time on Monday, May 31.

Festive Friday #0084

Today there is a new challenge up at Festive FridayIf you are new to the FF Challenges, you can choose any three items (or more!) from our list to inspire your creativity. For my card this week, I chose green, flowers and twine (metallic thread).

I used a distress ink spray through a stencil for my background. I stamped my flowers and die cut them for a bunch! I stamped my sentiment in black pigment ink and then die cut with a banner die. Finally, I tied metallic silver thread around the bouquet to help ground it. All images are from Sweet N Sassy Stamps.

I hope you will join us for this challenge and link up on the Festive Friday blog. Remember, you can choose any three from the list below, for any occasion or theme! The challenge is open until Monday, May 24.

Freshly Made Sketches #485

Happy Wednesday! It's time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. It is my pleasure to be the hostess this week!

About once a month I challenge myself to use items out of my unfinished projects box. In that box are die cuts, paper pieces, backgrounds, partially finished cards....I am sure you have a box like that if you are a cardmaker or crafter of any kind! This week's sketch drew the short straw, so everything (except the card base and embellishments) had to come from that box. And since it's all jumbled in there with many other elements, I am not sure where everything is from. I do know that the HUGS die is My Favorite Things. :)

I hope you will join our sketch challenge this week, and add your creations to our gallery! There is a lot of space to play with. This challenge will end at 3:00 EDT time on Monday, May 10.

Freshly Made Sketches #484 with Visible Image Stamps

Happy Wednesday! It's time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. This week's hostess is the wonderfully creative Amy! I took some liberties this week, Amy! Don't send the sketch police after me!

I have been wanting to use a new to me stencil from Visible Image Stamps (Grate-ful) for awhile, and today's sketch worked for that! I inked up my stencil using Bundled Sage DOX, and then decided to make today's card a square. I love square cards, and was sad the day the USPS changed their square postage rate (yes, it's been a long time ago now!) to be more expensive just due to the shape.

I die cut a frame from black cardstock, and then decided to move the sketch a little so the frame and sentiment would be centered. I stamped my sentiment (Thank You) on the stencil panel, and then attached the frame with foam tape.

The script flower from Imperfection is Beauty was stamped in black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder, then popped up with foam tape. A few black gems give extra sparkle.

I hope you will join our sketch challenge this week, and add your creations to our gallery! This challenge will end at 3:00 EDT time on Monday, May 10.
