RAWR! Festive Friday #0086

Today there is a new challenge up at Festive FridayIf you are new to the FF Challenges, you can choose any three items (or more!) from our list to inspire your creativity. For my card this week, I chose hearts, brads and blue.

I started with a Wrinkled Distress Technique background using Twisted Citron Distress Ink. I then stamped my images from this adorable CTMH stamp set (RAWR Means I Love You in Dinosaur) using various colors of ink from Scrapbook.com. I thought it made a cute Father's Day card for my grandsons to give! I popped up my dino with foam tape, added a brad for the heart speech bubble, and had to have some sparkly sequins! The dotted background is a patterned paper.

I hope you will join us for this challenge and link up on the Festive Friday blog. Remember, you can choose any three from the list below, for any occasion or theme! The challenge is open until Monday, June 21.

I used a distress ink spray through a stencil for my background. I stamped my flowers and die cut them for a bunch! I stamped my sentiment in black pigment ink and then die cut with a banner die. Finally, I tied metallic silver thread around the bouquet to help ground it. All images are from Sweet N Sassy Stamps.

Festive Friday #0083

Wow - the last day of April. My mama's birthday. She would have been 92 todayand got to celebrate 84 of those! I am happy to share a card on her birthday, because she loved to stamp and create, and got me started on my crafting journey way back 40+ years ago, when she taught me to crochet. Happy Birthday, Moot!

Today there is a new challenge up at Festive Friday! If you are new to the FF Challenges, you can choose any three items (or more!) from our list to inspire your creativity. For my card this week, I chose red, blue, and stitching. While I have used my sewing machine on cards before (and LOVE the look), today's stitching is around the circle - made by a die - faux stitching!
On white cardstock I stamped the snail from Mr. Snailman (Trinity Stamps) and colored with Copic markers. I die cut using a stitched circle. Next I chose some fun Doodlebug patterned paper and a doily, and created the main panel. I stamped the sentiment on a cloud die from my stash and popped it up with foam tape.
Isn't he cute?

I hope you will join us for this challenge and link up on the Festive Friday blog. Remember, you can choose any three from the list below, for any occasion or theme! The challenge is open until Monday, May 10.

Thank a nurse today! International Nurses Day is May 12, 2021. Following on from previous years, the overarching theme for IND is Nurses: A Voice to Lead. The sub-theme for 2021 is A Vision for Future Healthcare.

“This global COVID-19 pandemic has shown the world the important role that nurses play in keeping people healthy across the lifespan,” said Annette Kennedy, ICN President. “While there has been significant disruption to healthcare, there has also been significant innovation that has improved access to care. In 2021, we will focus on the changes to and innovations in nursing and how this will ultimately shape the future of healthcare.”

Thank a nurse today (and on May 12!)

Festive Friday #0082 World Laughter Day

Happy Friday! I hope you have had a good week! We are supposed to have a spring snow this afternoon. I hope the weather forecasters are wrong! I would take rain and a pink rainbow instead!

Today there is a new challenge up at Festive Friday! If you are new to the FF Challenges, you can choose any three items (or more!) from our list to inspire your creativity. For my card this week, I chose red, rainbow, and sequins. All of my images and dies are from Taylored Expressions.

On Desert Storm cardstock I stamped the mini rainbow from my kit from the Stamp Joy Retreat (Taylored Expressions) last month. I used Sugar Cube pigment ink and heat set. Next I die cut five different rainbows in five different pinks (and the heart in Rose Red) and arranged them on top popped up with foam tape. I added a sentiment strip and for interest, a bit of one of the pinks at the bottom with some metallic thread.

I hope you will join us for this challenge and link up on the Festive Friday blog. Remember, you can choose any three from the list below, for any occasion or theme! The challenge is open until Monday, April 26.

Get Well Soon with Festive Friday #FF0078

Happy Friday! I hope you are staying warm. Finally, an end to the craziest weather week ever. We started out with -46 wind chill, and finished with a heat wave of 21 degrees (felt like spring!).

Today there is a new challenge up at Festive Friday! We are celebrating International Women's Day (March 8)! If you are new to the FF Challenges, you can choose any three items (or more!) from our list to inspire your creativity. Your card does not have to specifically be about women, as you can see from my submission this week! For my card today, I chose flowers, glitter, and watercolor from the list.

First of all, I cheated just a little this week. I wanted to make a get well card for my sister, who has been in the hospital. Her favorite color is pink and she loves flowers. So I chose this gorgeous pink floral patterned paper -- that is watercolored! It is from the gorgeous Bloom & Wild collection from Craft Consortium. If you love designer paper, and haven't checked them out, now is the time. My most favorite papers ever. You can find them HERE.

I cut out two panels with the retired Elizabeth Crafts Dashing Rectangle dies. Next, I added glittery highlights on some of the flowers with my Nuvo Shimmer Pen. I stamped the sentiments from Life Sucks Without You (Picket Fence Studios) and added sequins from the Metropolis Mix (also PFS). Very simple, but very pretty!

I hope you will join us for this challenge. Remember, you can choose any three from the list, for any occasion or theme! The challenge is open until Monday, March 1.

Turtle Love with Festive Friday #FF0077

Happy Friday! I hope you have had a good week!

Today there is a new challenge up at Festive Friday! We are celebrating International Polar Bear Day! If you are new to the FF Challenges, you can choose any three items (or more!) from our list to inspire your creativity. Your card does not have to be about polar bears, as you can see from my submission this week! For my card today, I chose blue, silver, water (via a stencil), and a sentiment from the list.

I started with a stencil from Brutus Monroe and used my DOX inks and blending brushes to mimic water. I then stamped Turtle Family (also Brutus Monroe) - both sentiment and turtles - in Hero Arts Intense Black and colored with Copics. I cut two circle rings from silver glitter cardstock and hooked them together. A few fun sequins, and the card came together quickly!

I hope you will join us for this challenge. Remember, you can choose any three from the list, for any occasion or theme! The challenge is open until Monday, February 15.

Join Me For Coffee! Festive Friday #0076

Happy Friday! I hope you have had a good week!

Today there is a new challenge up at Festive Friday! The Year of the Ox begins the upcoming Chinese New Year, and we're celebrating by choosing things from the #FF 0076 Inspo List! If you are new to the FF Challenges, you can choose any three items (or more!) from our list to inspire your creativity. Your card does not have to be about the Chinese New Year, as you can see from my submission this week!

For my card today, I am using one of my favorite coffee sets, Coffee With A Splash, by Altenew. I started by stamping two of the images with WOW! Clear Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Pad, and then embossing with WOW! Metallic Gold Rich Pale Powder. This is a beautiful opaque powder, that has a subtle brassy look.

I then began watercoloring, using Karin Markers in three shades of red for the cup, and three shades of brown for the ring mark. Once that was dry, I began adding three different DOX inks, different layers at a time, for the background. I love how it turned out! I added a sentiment from the stamp set using VersaFine Onyx Black ink.

But - that was only two things from the list: red and gold. For my third, I chose a gorgeous foil paper from Recollections. It's actually a tree ring design, but it added so much interest to the card as a back panel:

I hope you will join us for this challenge. Remember, you can choose any three from the list, for any occasion or theme! The challenge is open until Monday, February 1.
