The Rabbit Hole Design July Release Day #3

Hello everyone! It's July Release Day #3 at The Rabbit Hole Designs

Today I am highlighting the Line Snowperson 2x6 Stamp Set and Mid-Century Modern #2 Four Layer Stencil.

I stamped my sentiment and image with VersaFine Clair Nocturne and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. I used the amazing Cottontail Embossing Powder Tool before stamping and embossing for clean embossing lines. I colored in my image with Copic markers.

I decided to make a bokeh background using the stencil this time, moving the circles slightly off on the second blending with the second color. On my next TRHD post this Friday, you will see the full stencil (plus my teammates have some awesome samples!)

Here is the hop lineup for today. Be sure to go back and check out Days 1 & 2 on the TRHD blog.

Birthday Blessings

Happy Sunday! Today I am sharing a mixed media birthday card using products from Stamp Simply.

I chose the wheat stalk image from Autumn Blessings and stamped it twice with Gathered Twigs and twice with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Inks. I took a small paintbrush and added water to each of the images, then cut them out with the coordinating die.

My background was made using a brayer and acrylic paint of various colors. The sentiment from Birthday Blessings was stamped in VersaFine Clair Nocturne. I mounted and popped up some of the wheat stalks on a half circle of kraft cardstock, and adhered that to the layered card base. For embellishments I added Metallic Gold String and pearls in Blush and Latte.

Supplies from Stamp Simply:

Other Supplies:

  • white, light pink, kraft cardstock
  • watercolor paper
  • foam tape
  • acrylic paint
  • Gathered Twigs and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Inks

Happy Father's Day!

Today I am sharing a masculine design using products from Stamp Simply in honor of all the dads out there - especially my husband and my son!

I sanded the raised part of the embossing folder to make it stand out a little more. I added a strip of the Metal Textures paper and tied the gold string around the panel. The sentiment was stamped and die cut with a circle die.

Freshly Made Sketches #540

It's Wednesday and time for a new sketch from Freshly Made Sketches! Jen M is our hostess for this week, with a fun design for you to try!

I created a CAS design using a retired Stampin' Up! set (Sunshine Sayings & dies) and a sentiment from Taylored Expressions (Mini Strips - Let's Celebrate). I am not wild about the color combination I chose, and had intended to use all pink shades, but grabbed the yellow for the card base, and it is what it is! I missed the last two weeks due to a busy work schedule - and then water in our basement - and I can tell because I struggled this week!

I hope you will join our sketch challenge, and add your creations to our gallery! This challenge will end at 3:00 EDT time on Monday, June 20th. Be sure to take a peek at the gorgeous cards my teammates have made on the FMS blog to inspire you!

Summer Roses with Stamp Simply

It's almost the middle of June! Wow -- I feel like my gardens are just starting to take hold. This year was a slow start due to lack of rain. And then last week we had a LOT. And I am seeing color in those rose bushes, petunias, snapdragons, and marigolds. Someday I will plant yellow roses. They are like sunshine! Until then, here is a beautiful Summer Roses Floral Clusters card from Stamp Simply!

I stamped my sentiment and cluster in VersaFine Onyx Black - it's just the crispest ink - and then embossed the flowers with Clear Embossing Powder so I could color with Copic markers. The absolutely COOL thing about the die is that it cuts ALL four of the Floral Cluster sets with one die! I used my blending brushes and added a sunny yellow dye ink for the background. A trio of pearls matches the little accent flowers (which could also be colored as unopened buds of the same rose color if you like!).

Supplies from Stamp Simply:

Other Supplies:

  • white cardstock
  • foam tape
  • lemon yellow dye ink
  • alcohol markers
  • clear embossing powder

You can see the other Floral Cluster sets (including an additional die set) and more details about the products used on the Stamp Simply Blog!

Under His Wings

I have been enjoying hearing the different bird song in my back yard lately. They have such perfect sounds. I wish I knew what they were saying!

Today I am sharing a Clean and Simple design using God Will Take Care of You from Stamp Simply. This set is available with bundle dies, or you can purchase each separately as well.

I used a hand cut cloud stencil from a longtime Splitcoast friend, and made my sky with a sponge dauber. The sentiment (Psalm 91:4) was stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black ink.

I then stamped my images with Memento Tuxedo Black, and colored them with Copic markers. The coordinating dies are very easy to line up and cut. I popped up the tree branch, and also the bird.

Supplies from Stamp Simply:

Other Supplies:

  • white cardstock
  • foam tape
  • hand cut cloud stencil
  • alcohol markers
  • medium blue dye ink (clouds)

You can see more of this fabulous new Bundle on the Stamp Simply Blog later today! PLUS, there is a 15% off Summer Sale going on now through June 10.

A Little Dirt From the Desert with TRHD

My home state is Arizona. I love the southwest and all of its different, beautiful lands. So when I saw this Desert Background (illustrated by Dustin Pike) from The Rabbit Hole Designs June release, it took me back to where I grew up and lived for over two decades. It's where a lot of my family still lives.

I used a simple spotlight technique with Copic markers to highlight part of the desert with the cute snake (not so cute in real life, but we always got along). I used a sentiment from the SxS Life stamp set. A little twine to tie everything together and it's ready to send back home!

I hope you had a great weekend. Thanks for stopping by today!
