Silly Rabbit!

Yesterday was a fun day - my husband's birthday! We had his favorite dishes, played a fun new game, and had gelato for dessert. So, I was in a festive mood, and made this cute & fun rabbit card! He definitely is a spring favorite! 

Lots of layers, and some fun patterned paper made this fun to create! I added three clear sparkly sequins and some rose metallic thread for embellishments. You can find out more about the products I used on the Stamp Simply Blog today!

Spring is Coming Sooner Than Later!

Wow! Now that we are through the REALLY long January "year," Spring is coming sooner than later! I have two cards to share with you today, both using products available at Stamp Simply.

The first uses one of my favorite sets - God Will Take Care of You. I love that sweet bird and branch! I started by making the clouds (from a handcut stencil I have had for almost 20 years!) and used Faded Jeans DOX. The sentiment and images were stamped with VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink and the images were then embossed in Clear EP so I could color with alcohol markers. That gorgeous paper is from the Coffee or Tea 6x6 (seriously, I love this because sometimes coffee and tea want other colors besides BROWNS!). Here is a close up view:

My next card features the lovely Happy Day Iris Bundle. I am obsessed with all the different colors of irises that there are. I just need someone to come plant them all in my yard! Anyone? After some cloudy days last week, I really needed this pop of cheery yellow! And it brought four days of high 50's in winter to follow! A boost of sunshine to the soul!

Freshly Made Sketches #671 (and #670!)

It is my pleasure to host this week's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! I will admit, when I drew this, I had something totally different in mind. My image for the circle took up the entire card, so I had to regroup. I will save that idea for another day.

My sister sent me a wonderful package full of stamps and dies this week, and the Loopy Border (IO Stamps) was in the package! We are both sad that they have closed, but we both have a wonderful collection of their stamps and dies. This was where I started with my card. I cut three of the borders, and had a bit of a time cutting them to size and keeping them looking mostly the same. The loops are very delicate and I kept tearing the sides. But I finally got three that would work!

While I was cutting the loops, I happened to notice a stamp set from The Greetery in a bin by my die cutting machine. I had never used it, and thought it would fit nicely for the circle. Imagine my surprise when I took it out of the storage bin and it had dies! (I obviously have stuff I need to get better acquainted with). I loved the purple flowers in the Coffee or Tea 6x6 from Stamp Simply, and chose that for my background. I like how they peek through the loops.

Winter Poinsettia with Stamp Simply

Hello crafty friends!

Today I am on the Stamp Simply blog sharing this Winter Poinsettia from the Floral Cluster Stamp and Die series. I absolutely love these stamps - there are four stamp sets in the series and ONE DIE cuts them all. Brilliant!

In the world of holiday greetings, the traditional red and green colors often take center stage. But every so often, it's fun to break the mold, offering a fresh take on festive elegance. I chose blues and greens for my main colors, along with some blue vintage paper, for my card this week.

Poinsettias are a staple of holiday decor, and while those with red leaves are the most common associated with Christmas, other colors have come into the fold over the years - including white, blue, purple, pink and multi colored/spotted! Do you have a favorite? 

To color my image, I first stamped in VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink (my favorite black), and then embossed with clear embossing powder so I could color with alcohol markers. This card was colored with Ohuhu markers. I then splattered with white paint (Spellbinders) and then cut the die out with the coordinating die. I cut a second out of vellum for a nice airy "shadow." The sentiment is also stamped in the same ink and embossed.

Christmas Peace with Stamp Simply

Good morning, everyone and Happy Sunday!

This past week I was in Arizona, where I grew up, with my husband's extended family and my immediate family. We celebrated the life of his precious mom, and had a really wonderful time being with family we hadn't seen in years. So it's been a bit since I have posted.

I decided to go with a deep purple sky - those Arizona night skies are on a whole different color scheme! I used Wilted Violet DOX for the background, with a few water splatters. I stamped the trees in VersaFine Clair Nocturne, then embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. I added snow (I'm from Northern Arizona - and they actually got snow yesterday!) with a white gel pen. The tree in the foreground is cut out with the die to give a little dimension. I used the beautiful Pearlescent White Quartz Cardstock for the Peace Word Die. Finally, I added some "stars" with Blush Glitter Gems from Pinkfresh.

October is Pastor Appreciation Month

Good morning! We are super excited here as our temperatures are finally FALL all the days! We got a nice little rain overnight and today the high is going to be around 55-60. Sweater weather! And October is already on the heels of this fast September.

Today I am sharing a card for Pastor & Ministry Appreciation month (October) using products from Stamp Simply. I wanted my colors to be a pretty blue on the front for all the blue skies we have here during the fall, but also wanted some fall color, so made the card base a pretty marigold/wheat color. I have always loved Sharon's mantra on the Stamp Simply website: Keep it simple - make it pretty - and I hope I have accomplished that here.

I masked off sections with Post-It Tape (fave!) and ink blended the background with Stormy Sky Distress Oxide Ink. I then stamped directly on top with (VersaFine Clair Nocturne) the image from Autumn Silhouettes and the sentiment from Pastor & Ministry Appreciation Scripture. A trio of rhinestones just happened to be laying on my desk from the previous project (where I didn't use them), and rather than put them away, they became a part of this card.

Sunflower Seeds

Today I am sharing a bright and fun fall card featuring products from Stamp Simply! Earlier this summer the Vintage Seed Packet was released, and I absolutely love the style. Today I paired it with the Sunflower Season stamp set.

I created my background first, using Spiced Marmalade and Dried Marigold Distress Oxide Inks. I added a few water droplets and sprays, and then stamped the Seed Packet with VersaFine Clair Nocturne. I then heat set the ink by embossing it with Clear Embossing Powder. I then masked the outside of the oval and stamped the sunflower, using the same embossing technique. I added a few color highlights with alcohol markers to have a very faint bit of sunshine on the petals and green leaves. I cut the sunflower word from another piece of the DOX cardstock I had inked and cut it out with the coordinating die. I distressed the edges of both the main panel and the underlying brick paper, then added gold metallic string and a little bee charm. I love the rich colors!

Grateful Heart

I love making fall cards! This week for Stamp Simply, I used a favorite set: Floral Clusters - Fall Flowers. I love that there are four sets in the Floral Clusters series - and ONE DIE cuts them all! 

I stamped my floral image with VersaFine Clair Nocturne, and then embossed with Clear Embossing Powder so I could color the image with Copic markers. I used the Welcome Autumn 6x6 paper from Carta Bella - a perfect green gingham and rust red to match the colors. Sweet Pea rhinestones added some fun bling. The sentiment is from the Farmhouse Simple Sentiments set.

Happy September and Happy "Fall"!

While it's not "officially" fall yet, September 1 is always fall to me. So today I am sharing a "sort of" clean and simple fall card using products from Stamp Simply. AND -- because it's Labor Day Weekend, there is a GREAT storewide 20% off sale going on through 9/3 (see below)!

I absolutely adore the Eucalyptus Silhouettes stamp and die set. While it's not a set you would generally use for autumn, I wanted to show how you can use sets in other ways to stretch your supplies. 

I inked the leaves with various dye inks, spritzed the inked stamp with water, and then stamped on watercolor paper. I used a water pen to spread the ink around for a textured watercolor look.

I cut them out with the coordinating dies. I cut some of the Twigs (Vintage Ovals and Twigs) out using Copper cardstock. The card base was splattered with Copper and Gold paint before assembling.

Wishing for Autumn Days That Are Cool & Crisp!

Hello everyone!

I have been visiting some friends out of state and it's been a very warm 105 degrees the past couple of days! So I am wishing for autumn days that are cool and crisp! Like these pumpkins from Stamp Simply!

I stamped my image with VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink, embossed with Clear Embossing Powder, and then colored in the image using alcohol markers and cut it out with the coordinating die. For my background, I stenciled Pumice Stone on the Dusty Blue cardstock, and then stenciled again with Salvaged Patina right over the top. Why? The Pumice Stone wasn't dark enough, and now it has kind of a cool lighter outline (very faint in the photo below, but super cool in real life!).

I added some plaid to tie the colors together, using a pattern from the Carta Bella Welcome Autumn 6x6 paper pad. I stamped and cut my sentiment with a Fishtail Banner Die and popped it all up! You can find out more about the products I used on the Stamp Simply Blog today!

Vintage Christmas Images - Part 2!

Hello!

This week I am going to be visiting some friends - and it will be right around 100 degrees every day while I am there. So what better time than to cool off with these cool skates?

Today I am sharing Part 2 of Vintage Christmas Images from Stamp Simply. Last week I shared the beautiful deer - one of four images, and today I am sharing the skates - along with the Vintage Christmas Background.

I stamped the background with VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink and then colored the border with alcohol markers (I dried the ink with my Ranger Heat It Tool). The skates were stamped and then embossed with Clear Embossing Powder, and cut out with the coordinating die. I used the Vintage Ovals & Twigs and cut some tiny heart paper from the Echo Park Love Notes 6x6 paper pad, and popped up the oval and skates with foam tape. The little tag and twine were the perfect size for the finished sentiment of Merry Christmas Wishes! And finally, rhinestones for sparkle. Those rhinestones are Light Pink - I promise - the lighting makes them look dark purple or some such thing!

Vintage Christmas Images - New Release with Stamp Simply

Today’s card features a new stamp and die set from Stamp Simply - Vintage Christmas Images. There are four beautiful images and today I chose the deer.  Isn’t he beautiful?

I stamped my image and sentiment with VersaFine Clair Nocturne, and then embossed the deer with Clear Embossing Powder. I colored with alcohol markers, and added a little white gel pen to the ornaments.The sentiment fits perfectly on one of the small tags from the TH Tag Collection set. The gold shimmery foliage is from the new Ovals & Twigs die set.

Oak Leaves - Boho Fall Release from Stamp Simply

 I love summer, but boy, am I ready for fall temperatures! Today I am sharing a card using products from the new Boho Fall Release at Stamp Simply: Boho Fall Leaves.

I embossed my leaves using Ranger Queen's Gold Embossing Powder, and then colored my image using watercolors. The OAK die is part of the Boho Leaves die set included in the bundle.

My Favorite Peony

Happy Sunday!

Two new sets are releasing today at Stamp Simply - Vintage Peony & Vintage Seed Packet - both beautiful sets! Today I am excited to share the new Vintage Peony stamps and dies. 

My very favorite peony is the Lois' Choice Peony - a fluffy pink and yellow beauty. So I colored today's peony to resemble my favorite! I used Copic markers to color. 

The set comes with may different sentiments and flourishes, as well as these two cute bees! You know I love bees! In hindsight, I wish I had colored them differently, instead of stamping them on cardstock blended with Scattered Straw DOX to match the background, but I still love them. 

I had this scrap paper in my paper bin, and liked the contrast the colors and stripes gave the bright flower. You can see more about these amazing new products on the Stamp Simply Blog today!

Eucalyptus Silhouettes

Happy Sunday, everyone! Today I am happy to be sharing a card using a brand new stamp set from Stamp Simply - Eucalyptus Silhouettes. I absolutely LOVE this stamp set and all of the sentiments/scripture that come with it.

I created a CAS one layer card, and used four different Distress Oxide inks and a little water spritzing before stamping. I overstamped with VersaMark and added Dominica embossing powder. The embossing powder is opaque with flecks of white, giving it a mottled effect, and has a different look each time you use it.
