Holiday Shaker

Hello and happy Sunday! Today I had such fun making this neutral shaker card using products from Stamp SimplyI am using both newly released Christmas products as well as some tried and true favorites!

I made the background shaker to look like snow with the Snowflake Blessings Border Strip. I adhered the Tartan Plaid to kraft CS and then cut out a frame using the Square Nestabilities. Added the sentiment banner and the Buck popped up and tied string around the panel before adhering it to the 5.5" square kraft CS base.

I used one of my foliage dies from Poppy Stamps, and turned each one for interest. My sentiment is from The Greetery. I added some rhinestones from my stash for sparkle. The top and bottom of the panel is scored  stopping about half an inch from each end.

I hope you will join our sketch challenge, and add your creations to our gallery! I would love to see what you make!

Beautiful Autumn

Yesterday and today were absolutely lovely -- a sign that fall is on its way. Rain and thirty degrees cooler than earlier this week! So today I am sharing a fall card in Release Week #2 from Stamp Simply.

I created a print background using acrylic paints and bubble wrap. I stamped my images directly onto the dry background with VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink, and then embossed with Clear EP to set the ink. A trio of rhinestones added sparkle. I love the contrast of the light pink card base with the bold print colors.

You can see more about the details of this card on the Stamp Simply blog today!

Freshly Made Sketches #551

It's Wednesday and time for a new sketch from Freshly Made Sketches! Kim is our hostess this week, with a great sketch to show off some of my hoarded patterned papers!

I used a gel print background, made with acrylic paints, and cut out my leafy leaf (SU!). I adjusted it a bit by moving some of the leaves to fit around my sentiment (The Greetery/Opposites Attract). I found some pretty prints in the Floral 6x6 pad from Echo Park, and stacked them on top. Finally, I added some sequins for bling.

I hope you will join our sketch challenge, and add your creations to our gallery! I would love to see what you make!

This challenge will end at 3:00 EDT time on Monday, September 5. Be sure to take a peek at the gorgeous cards my teammates have created on the FMS blog to inspire you! There are some beautiful designs there!

A Blessing

Happy Sunday! Wow, did August fly or what?

It seems like I was just waiting for my three grandkids to arrive on the 17th, and here it is the end of the month already. Well, we had a wonderful visit and it was such fun to have them at our house for the first time since February 2020 (my littlest wasn't even born yet and he turned 2 here a week ago today!).

I think everyone is wishing for the cool fall temps to get here (today it's 95), so I made a pretty fall tag to hurry them along using products available at Stamp Simply.

I started my tag by stenciling with various colors of Distress Oxide ink using the Flourish stencil (product links below). I then cut the Fall Foliage leaves from gel prints and backgrounds made with acrylic paints. I added spots of gold with Gold Leafing on some of the leaves. I added the Venise Lace and stamped circle sentiment, then added Latte pearls on the circle as well as on the tag itself. I tea dyed and crinkled my seam binding, and tied a double bow, fraying the edges.

Isn't that font gorgeous? So many wonderful sentiments for those in ministry - and many can be used for other occasions as well (like the one I chose!). This was a fun one to make - and I am looking forward to all of these colors soon! You can see more details about this tag on the Stamp Simply Blog today!

  • various Distress Oxide Inks
  • various acrylic paints

Ministry Appreciation from Stamp Simply

Being a pastor's kid, and the wife of an interim pastor for a couple of years, I appreciate the work that goes into shepherding congregations. I love that Stamp Simply carries stamp sets specifically for Pastor & Ministry Appreciation greetings. I made today's share with that in mind - making a card that could be used for a male or a female in ministry.

I kept the colors muted, using stamps, stencils, and paper all available at Stamp Simply (links are below!), and gave the card base an apricot color that works with both. You can find out more about this card and the products I used on the Stamp Simply blog today! Thanks for stopping by!

I love the Flourish stencil. It was a perfect backdrop for the beautiful wreath. The Crackling Campfire DOX blended beautifully to a faded color.

Freshly Made Sketches #548

It's Wednesday and time for a new sketch from Freshly Made Sketches! Jacquie is our hostess this week, with a great sketch for room to play!

I flipped the sketch so my vertical panel was on the left. I used the Tall Skyline Tree Frame from Poppy Stamps, and a sentiment from I Love You More by MFT. A few sequins to bling it up. The background for my tree was made with acrylic paints.

I hope you will join our sketch challenge, and add your creations to our gallery! I would love to see what you make!

This challenge will end at 3:00 EDT time on Monday, August 15. Be sure to take a peek at the gorgeous cards my teammates have created on the FMS blog to inspire you! There are some beautiful designs there!

Freshly Made Sketches #547

Happy August! It's Wednesday and time for a new sketch from Freshly Made Sketches! It is my pleasure to be hosting this week.

You can hardly go wrong with the Forever Fern set from Stampin' Up! I used several different Distress Oxide inks to stamp and blend my panels. Metallic thread and rhinestones added bling. The word die is from Altenew, and one of my favorites! And, as you can see, I decided to flip the sketch, as it fit better with my stamping.

I hope you will join our sketch challenge, and add your creations to our gallery! I would love to see what you make!

This challenge will end at 3:00 EDT time on Monday, August 8. Be sure to take a peek at the gorgeous cards my teammates have created on the FMS blog to inspire you! There are some beautiful designs there!

Freshly Made Sketches #546

It's Wednesday and time for a new sketch from Freshly Made Sketches! The sweet and talented Amy is our hostess this week - with a fun sketch with circles! I love this sketch.

I think most everyone around here is ready for cooler fall temperatures! Today I was inspired by yesterday's cool rain to make a fall card. I had this leafy foliage from a retired Paper Pumpkin kit (SU!) and created a fun fall greeting. My circles are from shimmery bronze and copper cardstock. I had this fun leafy embossing folder (Sizzix) that added dimension and texture. Three little rose gold rhinestones, and a die cut hello (Honey Bee Stamps) finished the card. It's a little top heavy, and maybe the sentiment should have gone lower left, but my glue dried too quickly to move it!

I hope you will join our sketch challenge, and add your creations to our gallery! This challenge will end at 3:00 EDT time on Monday, August 1. Be sure to take a peek at the gorgeous cards my teammates have made on the FMS blog to inspire you! There are some beautiful designs there!

The Rabbit Hole Designs August Release Day #2

Hello everyone! It's Release Day #2 with The Rabbit Hole Designs! This is such a fun release, and today I am excited to share a project with the following new products:

Wonderland #1 Stamp Set (Tweedledee...or Tweedledum)
Tea Party Background 6x6 Stamp (I used 1/3 of the stamp)
Heard in Wonderland Stamp Set (partial sentiment)
Rhombus Hot Foil Cover Plate (dry embossed as an embossing folder)

This sentiment is so fun - but with my background choice, I didn't want to cover up any more of the tea party. So I masked off everything but the first phrase. It fits for a lot of occasions, I think! My images were stamped with VersaFine Clair Nocturne, and then embossed with WOW! Clear Embossing Powder. I colored with alcohol markers. Look closely - don't miss that Rhombus embossed white panel!

There is a lot more fun in store for you at my teamies' blogs too. Here is today's hop line up:

Hello everyone! It's August Release Day #1 at The Rabbit Hole Designs

Today I am highlighting the Wonderland 1 Stamp Set and Dies, illustrated by Dustin Pike. I am also showing the new Rhombus Hot Foil Cover Plate, that I used as a dry embossing folder this time (inside the oval), and a sentiment from Heard in Wonderland

I stamped my sentiment and image with VersaFine Clair Nocturne and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. I used the amazing Cottontail Embossing Powder Tool before stamping and embossing for clean embossing lines. I colored in my image with Copic markers and then cut out with the coordinating die.

Here is the hop order for today. You can see a lot more of the release with these teammates:

Last Chance for Christmas in July Sale - and a Milestone!

Happy Sunday! Today is the last day for the 15% off Christmas Sale at Stamp Simply! And -- it's my 40th wedding anniversary! I can't believe we have been married that long. It just doesn't seem like it at all.

Today I am sharing a Christmas card using three different stamp sets and some fun embellishments.

I absolutely love this modern tree with the double lines and ornaments. I used one of the pretty greens from the Grunge Light paper pack, and stamped directly onto the paper with the tree. I used the same paper for the background mat and the strip across the front. I think these three sets work together so beautifully - with the Names and scripture from Isaiah.

Take advantage of the sale TODAY and get 15% off all Christmas items!

Freshly Made Sketches #545

It's Wednesday and time for a new sketch from Freshly Made Sketches! The ever talented Narelle is our hostess this week - with a fun sketch and lots of playing room.

This fun layered stencil (Squeeze the Day/Taylored Expressions) was the April purchase gift from TE, and I hadn'thad a chance to use it yet. It was perfect for a quick and easy card - and there is something therapeutic about layered stenciling to me!

I used Mowed Grass, Mustard Seed, and Squeezed Lemonade (how fitting) Distress Oxide Inks for the stencil. The sentiment is from the cute little stamp set that came with the stencil set and is cut with a Stampin' Up circle die. Some fun Doodlebug sequins add bling.

I hope you will join our sketch challenge, and add your creations to our gallery! This challenge will end at 3:00 EDT time on Monday, July 25. Be sure to take a peek at the gorgeous cards my teammates have made on the FMS blog to inspire you! There are some beautiful designs there!

Delightful Dahlias

Happy Sunday! I hope your July is going well! I celebrated a birthday last week and have a special anniversary later this week, so I love July!

Today I am sharing a beautiful floral card using products from Stamp Simply.

I started by repeat stamping one of the word stamps in Delightful Dahlias down the side in Pumice Stone Distress Oxide Ink. I stamped the dahlias in VersaFine Clair Nocturne and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder, then colored the image with Copic markers. The coordinating die cuts perfectly around the image.

The background oval is cut from Craft Consortium's Baroque 6x6 paper pad. Such gorgeous patterns! The sentiment was stamped on the paper, and then everything was adhered to the white panel. I wrapped it with rose metallic thread and added some rhinestones for bling.

Take advantage of the sale this week and get Delightful Dahlias for 15% off!
