Freshly Made Sketches #559

It's Wednesday and time for a new sketch from Freshly Made Sketches! The incredibly talented and sweet Jen T is our amazing hostess today with an inspiring sketch! Somehow I am always more inspired by circles on a sketch than flat sides. What about you? I didn't exactly use all the circles, but my three elements are there.... in three words!

I used one of my Turnabout sets from Concord and 9th (first time using one ha - I am always incredibly late to the party) and four DOX colors: Barn Door, Spiced Marmalade, Fossilized Amber, and Bundled Sage. I stamped my sentiment from The Greetery in VersaFine Clair Nocturne, and added oodles of little latte colored pearls form my stash. I used two shades of Soft Suede papers and tied it off with some May Arts Natural Jute (I love that stuff so much I have a 400 yard spool of it!).

I hope you will join our sketch challenge, and add your creations to our gallery! I would love to see what you make!

This challenge will end at 3:00 EDT time on Monday, October 31. Be sure to take a peek at the gorgeous cards my teammates have created on the FMS blog to inspire you! There are some beautiful designs there!

Freshly Made Sketches #525

It's the first Wednesday of March and time for a new sketch from Freshly Made Sketches! Karren is our hostess this week, and has a wonderful sketch with a lot of room to play!

I've been thinking a lot lately, as I am sure you are as well, about the things I take for granted. Safety, shelter, food, family. So I wanted to make a card of hope, and one with a reminder to take nothing for granted, as things can vanish quickly. The heart colors are a reminder to support and pray for the people of Ukraine.

Products used:
  • Rainbow Card Front Die (Concord & 9th)
  • Heart Dies (Paper Smooches)
  • sentiment from Group Hugs (Paper Smooches)
  • Cloud Dies (SNSS)
  • white, pink, magenta, yellow, lime, aqua cardstock (various)
  • Glitter Paper (Concord & 9th)
I hope you will join our sketch challenge, and add your creations to our gallery! This challenge will end at 3:00 EST time on Monday, March 7. Be sure to take a peek at the gorgeous cards my teammates have made on the FMS blog to inspire you!

Freshly Made Sketches #441

It's Wednesday, and that means a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! It is my pleasure to host the challenge this week!

I recently received the Brighter Days dies from Concord & 9th, and thought they were perfect for today's sketch.

I had a little bit left of this fun patterned paper with hearts (Bella Blvd.) and it was perfect for the Color Throwdown #599 this week too. This came together quickly, and I know I will be using these dies frequently to send snail mail cheer!

I hope you will join us with your take on the sketch this week! Our challenge is open until 3 PM EDT on Monday, June 29. Click on the links on the FMS blog by each photo to see what lovely things my teammates have created on their blogs!

Freshly Made Sketches #413

It's Wednesday and time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! Our hostess this week is Cécile, and she has designed a sketch that is open to your interpretation!

I am using one of my favorite fall sets with colors for a winter feel. We had a lovely fall day of 54 degrees on Tuesday and yesterday my entire town was shut down due to the snow that started about 7 AM and didn't quit until late last night. So I was inspired by frosty colors, but am so grateful for all the blessings in my life.

I chose Concord and 9th's Lace Leaf and the coordinating dies, along with CutCardStock's Curious Metallic CS and SU!'s Going Gray for a card base. I love how it turned out!

I hope you will join us with your take on the sketch this week! Our challenge is open until 3 PM EDT on Monday. Click on the links on the FMS blog by each photo to see what my teammates have created on their blogs!

It's a New Year and a New Challenge!

Happy New Year and Hello, friends! It's a new year, and a new challenge at The Rainbow Card Challenge! I have always enjoyed color, and am excited to share my creations with you each month based on the photo prompt! Can you guess our color for January by looking at my card?
January is RED - that first color in the rainbow! This adorable little monster was a Christmas gift to me - and is from Concord & 9th's new Monster Love. Cute as can be! I stamped on Hammermill paper with VersaFine Clair Nocturne, and then colored with Copics R27 & 29, and C1, C5, and W1. The LOVE is a group of sticker letters I have had in my stash forever from Me & My Big Ideas.

I hope you will come check out {this brand new monthly challenge} and play along with us!

Bear Hugs Enclosed

After the shootings a week and a half ago, I felt like I needed to make some cards that held lots of love for the recipients. This is one that I made using Hugs by Concord & 9th. Just got this in the mail recently from Drive By Crafts. I stamped and embossed him with Clear EP, and then colored with Copic markers. Then I used my handcut cloud stencil to make my sky, and blended the sky into the sponged grass.

I gave him a little shadow, added a wood heart from Stampin' Up! and he is ready to mail! Send a little love this week. It may be the boost someone needs to keep on the bright side.

The Beary Best

Happy Valentine's Day!

This adorable little guy is from Concord and 9th. It's the cutest set - and you can make oodles of different bears with accessories! I chose to keep him simple, and added an acrylic heart and arrow to help bring home the truth of the sentiment. One of the stamps is that cute striped background. I cut out my bear using the matching die.

I added some white pom pom trim from my stash, a white doily, and some sweet patterned paper with hearts and clouds. This is going out to my son and his wife (and sweet granddaughter) who are expecting my first grandson in about a month! Just sending some love their way  - 1300 miles away! (Sniff.)

Paper: Neenah Solar White & Desert Storm, Doodlebug Sweetheart DP

Painting with Embossing Folders - Lovely!

Hello friends! Today I have a "lovely" card to share.
My background was made with Distress Stains painted into my embossing folder, spritzed, and then run through my Big Shot. I love how it turned out.

I adhered a doily and wrapped it to the back of the card, so only half was showing. I added some beautiful Aqua Satin Shimmer Ribbon, and a Rhinestone Ribbon Slider for my trims, and used one of the beautiful Magnolia Blossoms from the Really Reasonable Ribbon Store.
I finished off my card with a word die from Concord & 9th. All of my layers are adhered using Scor-Tape.

A fun card mixing traditional elements, as well as a newer technique!
