More Pottery With Love

I wanted to share another card with you using yesterday's "Inspired by Belleek Pottery" technique. And I also wanted to share how you can stamp RIGHT ON pottery and have a beautiful collector's piece that you have made!

But first things first. My card today is made with images from Nature's Path by Rubber Stamp Tapestry. This darling little set makes beautiful delicate designs. I used a Spellbinders Heart die and punched out a heart template to sponge for my guide, and then stamped the wreath. I finished off with Love Block Stamp in another Spellbinders heart.

I added a second panel using the Inspired by Belleek Pottery technique (CLICK HERE) and a Sizzix embossing folder with Sahara Sand ink.

NOW, to see some really beautiful pottery and art using Rubber Stamp Tapestry's stamps on ceramic bisque, CLICK HERE. Susan has some gorgeous tutorials and ideas to show you about how easy it is! Here is a peek:
I did not make this! This is one of the many works of art that Susan has made using Rubber Stamp Tapestry's stamps. Have a look! You will love the technique and end results~!

Valentine Love: Great News, Good News, Some News!

Today I worked with one of my peg stamp sets from Rubber Stamp Tapestry called Heart Deco. It has such fun little hearts and foliage to make such pretty wreaths and borders. The inks I used led me to the cardstock colors, and then to the ribbon. I love the combination of pinks and greens, but when I was all done, it turned out a little Christmas-y perhaps. That's okay, because by the time I send this as a Valentine, Christmas will be long gone!

I added two rows of pearls to the sentiment frame to coordinate with the pearls in the corners of the main panel. For a fabulous tutorial on how to make a card similar to this, visit RST's brand new blog: Tapestry Stamp Techniques. Susan Walton, the owner, of Rubber Stamp Tapestry does a marvelous job of showing how easy it is to work with peg stamps to create beautiful projects!

AND, if you scroll all the way down, you will see my card there! Yep, I am a new designer for Rubber Stamp Tapestry! (That is the GREAT news!) I am thrilled about this, as I love their stamps, and the way that one set can make oodles of different, beautiful wreaths and garlands, as well as any other design you can think of! HERE is a detailed description of how I made my card, with measurements and ink colors from RST. Check out the RST website - they have so much to offer, from stamps to inks, to accessories, to Nestabilities too!

End of stamping news/beginning of personal news!

And now for the rest of the news today: Many of you have been praying for me and know that today I had my second appointment with the hand surgeon to talk about the results of the nerve test I had last Friday. He has determined that I only need surgery on my left hand, and that it will fix the numbness and tingling I have there (good news!). He does not recommend surgery for my right hand now (also good news!), because the pain from my right hand is from osteo-arthritis (not great or good news, but some news!), not carpal tunnel (great news!).

He told me that I will need six weeks of NOTHING with my left hand (no stamping, no piano playing, no keyboarding) and that surgery will need to be scheduled two weeks in advance. Since I have an elementary music program coming up March, it isn't going to work to have it done before March 31. I am going to CHA and Disneyland in about two weeks and I need my hands to hold on when we ride the Indiana Jones ride!

But I am really happy that my right hand will keep me going after the surgery. I think I can stamp with only one hand (esp. the right!), I can type (albeit slowly) with just one hand, and I can play one-handed too! So that's the news!

And by the time I direct "My Fair Lady" this July, I will be all done! Thank you again for all your concern and well wishes. You all are wonderful!

New Releases at Rubber Stamp Tapestry!

There are so many fun new things at Rubber Stamp Tapestry! Check out all the new stuff HERE.

My card today features one of the new peg stamp sets, Color Me Beautiful. It can be used on fabric, ceramic, or paper and will be so versatile, since you can change the look by coloring in the flowers. Today I chose to leave the lines open, and used colored inks in shades of blue.
I first stamped my images in the corners with several shades of ink (see below), and then used a felt applicator (Tim Holtz) to add some color. The border on the back panel was done the same way. After stamping, I embossed the main panel with a Sizzix embossing folder. The sentiment is the Friendship Block Stamp. I added some pearls and a Spellbinders fancy tag die cut behind the sentiment.

I will be showing more of the new releases in the next few days, so I hope you will visit again! Thanks for stopping by!

Believe in......Gingerbread Men!

I love the smell of warm gingerbread baking in my oven.  This little stamp set from Rubber Stamp Tapestry makes me want to get in my kitchen and have it smelling like yumminess!
I made this yesterday for the Splitcoast Ways To Use It Challenge: Basically Beautiful Brown . . .

I used Rubber Stamp Tapestry's Old Fashioned Gingerbread Fabric Stamp Set for my wreath and Believe/Dream/Peace Designer Block Prints for my sentiment.

First I sponged in a wreath shape with my ink, and then added each little stamp one by one. I added a row of little pearls underneath the bronze metallic embossed panel. The buttons and candy canes have Diamond Stickles on them. I love this little Gingerbread set! It was made for stamping on fabric.  If you haven't been to Susan's (RST owner) blog to see what she does with quilt blocks, you are missing out.  Her cards are simply stunning! Take a peek today and you might win a RST set!

Stamping Over Shopping!

Christmas Love Set by Rubber Stamp Tapestry
I imagine by now most of you have your shopping done.  I used to have mine done by Thanksgiving. The last few years I haven't because we have been involved in the community theatre productions and weekends are busy! This year we are doing "Inspecting Carol" - my husband plays Wayne Wellacre, a wannabe actor, and I am the Assistant Director for the show. So.....I think I have purchased two gifts! Eek! Better get that done soon....as in three weeks from now.  :)

But I always seem to want to stamp instead of venture out into the masses at the stores! I made this card for the SCS Ways To Use It Challenge 299: Using Letters. My letters are in the background of my stamped panel: L-O-V-E. The images are from a wonderful Rubber Stamp Tapestry set called Christmas Love.
The words stamps are actually two new offerings from RST: Together Block and Forever Block.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Dutch Dare - Christmas
Paper Cupcakes - Anything Goes
Stampit Crazy - Christmas Treasures

Stamps: Rubber Stamp Tapestry: SHO20014 Christmas Love, FSB39018 Forever Block Stamp, FSB39017 Together Block Stamp
Paper: Baroque Burgundy, Very Vanilla, Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses DP
Ink: VersaColor Bark, Bamboo, Burgundy, Cardinal, Charcoal, Polar Blue
Accessories: brown satin edged grosgrain ribbon, SB789 Adhesive Pearls (Kaiser Chino), slit punch

Fun Announcements and a Garland of Posies!

Posy Garland from Rubber Stamp Tapestry

First of all, Happy Anniversary to me (and my husband!)! We are celebrating 28 years today!
Dinner out and then going to see our daughter in Crane River Theatre's production of "Godspell" - for the second time!

I am excited about this beautiful stamp set called Posy Garland from Rubber Stamp Tapestry. It is one of three brand new sets specifically designed to stamp on fabric (such as quilt blocks), but it works so well on paper too!

For today's SCS Inspiration Challenge, Stef showed us a site called Novica, which I loved browsing! Awesome stuff. I even found a bracelet that I ordered with birthday money! I used this brooch for my inspiration. I also made this for Melanie's SCS DTGD Challenge for Fan Club members. If you aren't a Fan Club member, you are missing out on some fun stuff!

I stamped on Glossy White paper with VersaColor ink and then embossed with Clear EP. And although in the photo the dark carstock looks black, it really is a beautifull textured dark green from The Paper Studio.

Check out this awesome tutorial from Susan at RST!  It shows just how to use these sets on fabric, wood and paper, and she has made a gorgeous quilt block!  Later next week I will be showing you some ways to use fabric on your cards.

And now I am so pleased and excited to announce that I have been asked to be the August Guest Designer for Sparkle N Sprinkle!  I was honored and surprised when Donna emailed me, and I am so excited to be a part of the wonderful Sparkle Design Team and company. Look for more about SNS and my SNS designs in August!!

For the final announcement, as many of you know, I hosted Unity's FWF blinkie yesterday!  And I chose a winner this morning by randomly picking names out of a basket!  Congratulations to Carol B! Carol, please email Jimmi at jimmi.mayo@gmail.com
with your full name, addy and what you won!

Thanks for stopping by today! I appreciate it so much!
