Harvest Blessings

Today's Ways To Use It Challenge 241 called us to use patchwork in our designs. I chose a simple nine grid patchwork, stamping the four corners, and using K & Co. Que Sera Sera designer paper for the other squares. I ran each section through the Cuttlebug using the Herringbone embossing folder.

I used Verve's Harvest Blessings, and stamped each leaf with Kaleidacolor Late November ink. I sponged the edges with Papertrey Ink's Chai and Chamomile Distress ink, then layered on VersaColor Pinecone and Paprika. The wreath was stamped with Pumpkin Pie, and before stamping I added Old Olive and Summer Sun to the mix. Diamond Stickles accent the wreath. The sentiment is stamped with VersaColor Pinecone.

Background layers are Memory Box Twlight designer paper. I added brads and organdy ribbon, which I heated to curl - all done!

I think my mojo left with the leaves on the trees last week -- it's been a whole week since I stamped~ changing of seasons or something, I guess! Thanks for taking a peek~

More Kraft Love

There is a Mellow Moss Nestabilities layer behind the Kraft Pinking Circle that I sponged with Craft White ink (like the Kraft Pinking Circle). I love the new Dewfrost DP from Memory Box! It has such wonderful designs for winter and some for any occasion.

My flower medallion is stamped on Kraft with Craft White ink three times, and then layered for dimension. I did faux stitching with my paper piercer and white gel pen for a subtle look.

100 Minus One Day

I really had a fun time with this card. The darling digital image is Bella and Bronte from Maurie J. Manning at Digital Pencil Too. She has some wonderful images there, as well as some beautiful books that she has illustrated. What a delight!

I thought that the Winnie the Pooh sentiment from Verve was the perfect accompaniment to Bella and Bronte.


I colored by image using a combination of Copics and watercolor. There are Crystal Stickles on the flowers - always hard to get that in a photo. Stay tuned later this week for more wonderful images from Maurie!

The Fairest Blossom

I loved today's SCS Inspiration Challenge! The handbags and purses on today's inspiration site have such awesome patterns and colors. I am a sucker for purses and bags, even though I hardly carry one! I can't ever keep track of them. In fact, I really have no idea where my driver's license and wallet are right now. Better find those today.....

I chose this handbag for my inspiration,
and used the patterns and colors to make my card today.

I decided to put my two ribbon layers on a little skewed from each other -- my friends will tell you I am so "straight line, centered" about my embellishments that I decided for this week I was going to try to do something not so centered and straight on each card. We will see if that works! :)

My son comes home from college for three weeks tomorrow, and we are so very excited here! He lives in North Carolina now,
and we don't get to see him very often!

No Small Miracles

A quick post today - I am off to church and then we all have our auditions with the TV producers this afternoon! (More on this later!) If our theatre is chosen - that is no small miracle! HA!

I made this card for SCS Inspiration Challenge 180 HERE.

I used the colors and flowers for my inspiration and made a rather funky patterned card.

The May Arts twill is frayed on the left side and there are two loops as well, which are hard to see. Paper is Glitterati by Memory Box and the flower is from the Prima Juliette Collection Berry. Sentiment is by Verve. This is a standard A2 sized card.

Great Colors, Great Sketch, Great News!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Father's Day! I am enjoying having my parents live here so I can celebrate some of these special days with them.

Today I made a Polished Stone background for my SCS Color Challenge card. It is one of my favorite techniques, and I hope you will try it if you haven't before. It's really simple and makes awesome unique backgrounds. Let me know what you think of the tutorial.

I substituted Bashful Blue for Soft Sky - I love SS so much I am out! Better stock up soon!

I made my Polished Stone background, then cut
the strips out and stamped the Verve Visual blossoms on the Polished Stone as well. I used my Versamark pad to stamp the small blossom on the Bashful Blue cardstock piece. If you scroll all the way down this page, you will see some examples of Polished Stone colors I have made.

And now for the great news! As many of you know, I just love the humor and design of Hambo Stamps. Yesterday I was asked by Monica to be a Guest Designer for July! I am very excited about this, and am looking forward to designing some new projects with new stamps! Stay tuned!
