I turned the sketch on its side for my layout today. I started designing my card around Graphic 45's Steampunk Spells 6x6 pad. From there I chose a K & Co. glittery witch and bat die cut that I have had in my stash forever, and then added the cute sentiment from Chicken Girl Design's Happy Halloween stamp set. All my layers are held together with 1/2" Scor-Tape and popped up with Zva Dimensionals. Lot of layers and lots of fun! Linked supplies are available at i {heart} papers!
I made this card in honor of my daughter, who played the Wicked Witch of the West in the Wizard of Oz three years ago when she was a senior in HS.
The Deconstructed Girls have some amazing eye candy for you so have a visit at my teammates' blogs too! To play along, link up HERE.
I think it's Spring!! 50 degrees by 10 AM and lots of little birdies chirping. The forecast for Sunday is 64, so I am hopeful, even with the 45 on Monday! Today's Splitcoast Free For All Challenge is all about Sweet Empty Calories! Jelly beans, peeps, chocolates, donuts, gummy bears, or M&Ms....you know what I'm talking about! My little pink bunny peep is floating in the sky wishing everyone a Happy Easter weekend~!
i {heart} papersis thrilled to be celebrating our 4th
birthday this month! We know there’s no way we could have made it this
far without each and every one of our loyal customers sharing their IHP
love with their friends or following us on Facebook, Twitter, our blog
or through our newsletter. So, our celebration is really a celebration
of YOU and our gift to you is a 25% off coupon for the whole store,
valid 10/16-1-/20 (valid on in stock items not, not valid on gift
certificates or prior orders). Use code: 4bdayDT.
NOTE: Shop early! Once seasonal items are sold out, they will most
likely not be restocked. Also, the store will be closed from Oct 19-25th
and there will be no shipping during this time. Orders will resume
shipping on 10/26.
We will also have a giveaways on the blog and on Twitter during these
days (they’ll be linked from Facebook too but since giveaways aren’t
technically allowed on Facebook we have to do it on the blog!) so be
sure to check in daily to see how to enter.
But wait! There’s more! Long time customers know that Kate is a huge dog
rescue advocate, volunteering for a local dog rescue, transporting dogs
in need and doing rescue work on Facebook. October happens to also be
Adopt A Shelter Dog month, as well as the birthday of one of Kate’s dogs
and the Gotcha/Adoption day of the other. So, in honor of all of that,
IHP will be donating 10% of all sales during the birthday sale to Home For Good Dog Rescue, Eleventh Hour Rescue and Pilots ‘n Paws.
And if you make your own donation to any of these organizations, we
will send you a gift certificate to IHP for 50% of your donation amount
(these will be sent at the end of the month). Just email us a copy of
your donation receipt and we’ll email you a gift certificate!
We're combining this month's design team challenge with IHP's birthday
celebration. The DT has created projects inspired by photographs of a
floral themed birthday party found here.
I chose Chicken Girl Design's Birthday Wishes for my images, and used the colors and balloons for my inspiration.
Here is another Ten Minute design using the adorable Happy Halloween set from Chicken Girl Design, available at i {heart} papers. It is on sale right now for a fabulous $7 price!
I stamped on Kraft using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and then embellished with banners, punches, glitter globes and my favorite little flower die from Memory Box: Small Pinwheel Posie. I used the beautiful Lilac Felt for my flower.
Check out all the cute designs in this stamp set, and then head over to IHP to get it while supplies last!

Hello and welcome to thei {heart} papers 2nd Birthday Bash blog hop and scavenger hunt! You should have arrived here from Joan's blog. If you're jumping into the middle (or if you're lost!) be sure to start at Kate's. You don't want to miss a thing!
Today we’re celebrating two great years of IHP and are delighted to have some fabulous guest designers playing along with our talented design team members to bring some birthday paper-crafting inspiration your way! Our design team and guests are revealing their creations for this month's design team challenge--to design the "Perfect Pair"--a birthday card and coordinating gift, tag or other presentation item.
We would love if you would join us in making a Perfect Pair of your own (upload to your blog or an online gallery with the keyword IHPBB10). Be sure to post your link on Kate’s blog so we can see your project and enter your name in our challenge prize drawings.
In addition to today's design team challenge, we've got some fun celebrating in store for tomorrow and Thursday! Don't worry - you won't have to hop every day! Kate will be hosting a sketch challenge tomorrow on her blog, and Deb has another challenge for you on Thursday. Winners for each day will be randomly drawn from each day's entries, and everyone who plays along, either with the challenges and/or the scavenger hunt (more on that below) will be eligible for the grand prize drawing that will close the festivities on Friday.
Submitting your challenge projects is not the only way to win! Tucked into the text of today's blog posts we've provided clues to an easy scavenger hunt (most have to do with our favorite products and tools or hobbies and interests we have) that we invite you to play as you hop. When you find the answer, click the link to visit the store and collect "evidence" that is listed on that particular product’s page and email your complete list, in blog hop order, to Katewhen you're finished. You can take your time and stretch the hop over the three days of our Birthday Bash celebration...it's not a race, but like any other sale, the earlier you shop, the better the selection! Deadline to submit your scavenger hunt entry is Friday morning, 3AM EST.
By participating in the scavenger hunt you'll receive an exclusive, one time use 20% off coupon code to use when you shop at i {heart} papers. (This will be emailed to you after the Bash when entries are checked.) You will also be entered for your chance to win the grand prize $50 gift certificate drawing on Friday.
ALL orders placed during the Bash (Oct 19-21) will receive a free goodie bag of surprise merchandise. The more you spend, the bigger your goodie bag!
Also, there will be random drawings for additional prizes from our PaperCraft Planet group members, our mailing list (sign up on the right side of the homepage) and our fans on Facebook. If you are on all three, then you’ve got triple the chances to win!
For my Perfect Pair, I made a 4x4 gift card and a matching gift tag. I love how you can change the size of the digi images to meet your needs! My little kitty from the October Collection by Chicken Girl Designs is ready to give his birthday gift at the i {heart} papers party!
For my project I used:
Stamps: Meowy Christmas and Lookin' Purty (sentiment) by Chicken Girl Designs
Ink: Spica Glitter Pens and Copic Markers (including the R family) HINT, HINT!
Patterned Paper: K & Co.
Other: Spellbinders Rectangles and Scalloped Rectangles, pink brads, pink tag, pink grosgrain ribbon, tag punch, faux stitching
Your next stop on the hop is Julie! There's a list of all of the participating designers on Kate's blog just in case you get lost along the way!
