Freshly Made Sketches #548

It's Wednesday and time for a new sketch from Freshly Made Sketches! Jacquie is our hostess this week, with a great sketch for room to play!

I flipped the sketch so my vertical panel was on the left. I used the Tall Skyline Tree Frame from Poppy Stamps, and a sentiment from I Love You More by MFT. A few sequins to bling it up. The background for my tree was made with acrylic paints.

Freshly Made Sketches #504

Come join our sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches! The very creative Karren is our hostess today!

When I saw the sketch, for some reason puffy clouds came to mind for the bottom layers. While it's not straight lines, it still follows the sketch! I am not a slimline fan, so I created a mini slim today (which I do like)!

I cut three layers of puffy clouds using MFT's Stitched Clouds Edges Dies. I popped up the middle layer for fun. Next, I cut the Airplane w/ Banner (CottageCutz) three times using Basic Black, Hammermill White, and Wild Cherry. I stamped my sentiment (Lily of the Valley/Reverse Confetti) and then adhered all of the airplane pieces together, also popped up. My card base is Seaside Spray (SU!) matted with Wild Cherry (Poptone). A lot of different companies' products today! I love combining what I have to make something fun!

Freshly Made Sketches #461

Hello everyone! It's Wednesday, and that means a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! The very talented Karren is our hostess this week!

I added a little curve to my sketch to be able to play with the cute MFT Stamps August kit: Better Together. I am always a little behind in playing with my new craft toys, and while this kit is no longer available, the individual pieces are!

I used some cute patterned paper from the Road Trippin' Paper Pad for my background and car, and colored my images with Copics. Such fun to put together!

Freshly Made Sketches #450

Hello everyone! One of the highlights of my crafting week is on Wednesday, when I get to share the new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! This week's sketch was designed by the very talented Karren, and I know you will have fun creating with it.

I had several stamp sets out, trying to decide which I would use for the trio of circles. I finally decided on the yet-uninked Zippy Zebras from My Favorite Things. I have been wanting to use these cute guys for a long time, and they finally got their chance to shine today!

I used a little of this and that from various companies to make this little layered scene, but I think it turned out so cute. What do you think? 

I stamped my zebras with VersaFine Clair Nocturne, and then did a little highlighting with Copics. The sky background was a watercolor distress ink background I had. It has some nice texture in it that doesn't distract from the foreground. The clouds are from MFT, the grass die is Sweet N Sassy Stamps, and the sun rays are Brighter Days from Concord and 9th. That fun background paper is from Stampin' Up!

It's Wednesday, and that means a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! Today's hostess is Narelle!

I haven't had a chance to ink up this adorable set by MFT: Aussie Animals.  The set is already discontinued, I believe. But this little koala seemed perfect for the sketch this week. 

I found some cute Doodlebug patterned paper that matched my idea, and created my bright card with Copic coloring and a few enamel dots for a color punch. Isn't he cute?

Freshly Made Sketches #416

It's Wednesday and time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! Our hostess this week is Amy! 

I typed in today's date for my blog post, and was brought up short because Christmas is in a WEEK! Oh my goodness. No, I am not ready. I am not even ready for today! :)
But I am ready for this week's sketch!

We make jokes on the team about who doesn't like circles, and who has a hard time with things like today's wonky panels. It's fun to see what types of shapes and sketches are hard for each of us! I struggled a few weeks ago with a design that was simple for most everyone else, but today's idea came right away! That's always good. Especially when Christmas is in a week! EEK!

I had these new-to-me MFT dies sitting on my table, and when I was thinking up an idea for today's sketch, I knew I wanted to squeeze in another holiday card!

I used some gorgeous Peacock metallic cardstock from CutCardStock for the sentiment strip and background panel, and some beautiful paper from Momenta for the main panel. I cut the dove, branch, and sentiment out of Hammermill White cardstock, and voila! A ten minute card! The gluing of the sentiment took the longest. I used my favorite Connect Glue from Gina K. Designs, LLC.

My card today is made with all of the ribbons and trims in this month's club, plus a couple of other fall themed ribbons from RRR.

I cut different lengths of ribbons at an angle and adhered them to my solid designer paper piece. After cutting my double word die (My Favorite Things Stamps), I added a length of the crochet lace in this month's package, and added two brown Mulberry Leaves and a White Cosmos Daisy for embellishment. All of my layers are held together with Scor-Tape and Tombow 3D Tabs.

Amazing!

The last time my sister came to visit, I taught her the Wrinkle Free Distress technique, and we made a LOT of backgrounds. We did Gelli prints as well, and had a lot of fun with that. 

One of the distress ink backgrounds I made is the background for the card I am sharing today. If you are unfamiliar with this technique, there is a tutorial on Splitcoaststampers that explains it very well!

I chose dies and stamps from My Favorite Things (Amazing and Doubly Amazing) and some flowers from Prima for my card. The texture in the gold die cut was already on the paper, so it made it easy! There is a dot for the "i" in amazing, but I decided to leave it off on purpose with this design. I added some Jute String from Really Reasonable Ribbon behind the flowers (I think that was the hardest part - getting it to lay like I wanted! Thank heavens for glue dots!) and layered it on the card base and it was done! A WOW look for an easy card! The part I love best is that you never know what your background will look like! Give it a try!

Ah....giraffes!

Ok, seriously. These companies need to all quit making giraffe stamps all the sudden. They know I am weak. They know I have to have them ALL. A giant garage sale is going to have to happen this summer if I am to keep up! And another release of a cutie giraffe on Sunday!

Well.... this is my newest addition. And I absolutely LOVE the set (Sweet Safari) and the matching dies, and papers, and companion foliage sets.......$$$. But a girl's gotta have her giraffes.
This one is by My Favorite Things. CUTE!! And there are a lot more jungle animals in the set.

I watercolored the heart background, and then cut it out using a Spellbinders die. The giraffe was stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black and then colored with Prismacolor pencils. The background paper is glittery and is from The Paper Studio Safari Stack. A few Doodlebug sequins, and all done!
