It's An Ice Cream Kind of Day

You know I love the dies over at Lil' Inker Designs! They cut beautifully and are just so fun. The Rainbows and Clouds set is one of my favorites.
I made my ice cream scoops out of the larger cloud dies and added Starfire Glitter and Bubble Gum Glitter (both by Sparkle N Sprinkle) to the edges (and also to the sentiment circle). My waffle cone is cut from Creamy Caramel cardstock, and then run through my Cuttlebug. I sponged Close to Cocoa ink on the top and edges for a "baked" look. My sentiment is by TLC Creations.

Here is a look at the Rainbows and Clouds set:
You can see a card I made with the rainbows here and another "out-of-the-box" card using the cloud dies here.

And for other fun news, I made the Spotlight over at Sweet Stampin' Challenges with this card. Cool~!

It is a hot forecast here for the rest of the week - high 90's for temps and high 60's and 70's for humidity. So I think ice cream is the perfect treat! Have a wonderful summer day~!

Sheep on the Green

Today's SCS Inspiration Challenge had some really fun patterns and prints. I chose the colors in this scarf from Posh Vintage.

I made a very simple card using Laura Pryor's Cloud Dies (L'il Inker Designs) and some Back to the Basics DP by The Paper Studio. I used a circle punch for the sun and the leftovers from my Fiskars Threaded Ribbon Punch for the rays and sheep legs. A heart punch made the ears, and I cut the grass with scissors.
Here is a picture of the inside of the card:
Thanks for stopping by my blog today and have a GREAT weekend!

Red Rainbows and Thank Yous

This is what I made for today's SCS Clean and Simple Challenge 125: Red/Black/White. I love this color combo - it is so crisp and classy. I used Rainbows & Clouds stamps and dies from Li'l Inker Designs. I ADORE this stamp set and the dies that come with it. There are oodles of possibilities for color and design! I doodled around the edge of the card for a little different finish.

Thanks for looking and I hope you have a GREAT day!

A Fun Challenge Casing Amy

Today's challenge at Splitcoaststampers Free for All is to case one of your stamping friends.
Amy Sheffer was long (and still is) my stamping hero. It was so fun to meet her at CHA a couple of years ago and be roommates! She is so sweet and talented and I very blatantly copied her pinwheel card HERE.

I did stick to the "case rules" and changed a few things - my designer paper brand, an extra layer, and I added a little curled flag to the sentiment. I used some of my favorite Stella and Rose papers - Mabel Papers - for the background and pinwheel. Amy had a little corrugated flower behind her pinwheel buttons. I corrugated some Bronze Metallic CS and used my corrugator to make a button mat.  I haven't used a corrugator in years! It was fun! Dust yours off~

The Pinwheel die, Flag die, and sentiment stamp are all by Li'l Inkers Designs.
Pinwheels cheer me right up!

We had a lovely rain this last night and this morning. I absolutely LOVE morning rain showers. No wind, just nice steady rain, for about 30-45 minutes. My tomatoes and lettuce, and new redbud tree loved it! Tomorrow I will try to post some pictures of my container gardens. Just three containers, but it's enough for us!

Other challenges for this card:
AiFactory - summer fun - buttons and bows (twine bows and buttons)
Art Impressions Stamps - buttons and bows
Aud Sentiments Challenge - summertime
Crafty Purple Frog - favorite things (twine, lace)
Stampin' B's - border punch
Alota Rubber Stamps - summertime

I Love Me Some Pinwheels~!

I am in love with this little pinwheel.  I could put it on my cards all week!  Yes, there is the problem of figuring out how to mail these, but hey, I am hand-delivering, so it's okay~!

The pinwheel die is available at Lil' Inker Designs and comes with an adorable stamp set that has so many fun sentiments to use with the pinwheels.  I plan to ink that up later this week. The sentiment above is by TLC Creations - one of the freebies that Paulette gave away this week~!

Laura has some adorable samples at Lil' Inker Designs - and a great flag and banner set that should be in my mailbox sometime next week.  Check out everything HERE. I ordered two pinwheel dies, just because it wasn't that much more, although at the time I was thinking "Why do I need two?"  And now that I have them in my hot little hands, I can see that two are delightfully fast and you can cut twice the pinwheels in the same amount of time.  DUH.  Blonde hair, you know. :)

The second card is made for the new CAS-ual Fridays challenge that debuted today HERE. What a fun challenge, and one that is DEFINITELY a challenge for me.  You don't see too many CAS cards on my blog or in my gallery.  It's hard for me.  In fact, see that white space in the corner? I wanted to fill it with brads and buttons and all sorts of stuff.  But I didn't! I had to set it aside so I would leave the white space!!

The challenge today was to use text in your design somehow.  I chose a designer paper by The Paper Studio and made a graduation card - one of many that I will need in the next week~!

And now I am off to celebrate National Scrapbooking Day by working on my daughter's scrapbooks~! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by~!
