Spring Has Sprung!!!
Spring came in one day here. Seriously. It has been cold and windy for weeks (MONTHS!). I went outside today and found beautiful surprise flowers in my yard!Last year these tulips did not bloom (see below), so I was thrilled when they appeared today!
The best part of all is that my crabapple trees are going to bloom this year!! Christmas and New Year's Eve 2006 we had a terrible ice storm with 4 inches of ice on everything (see below for a look at that- the picture is of my crabapple trees in January 2007). Anyway, the next spring (2007) they didn't bloom because the ice had messed up the growing cycle.
But LOOK!! Today they look like this and I am so thrilled and excited!!
In a few days, the whole backyard will be filled with pink flowers! I have three trees.
I am anxiously awaiting my lilacs to bloom too -- they are just starting to bud!
