We are seeing the fruit of a long, cold winter and a lot of spring rain. Here is a picture of my tulips in my front yard. It is hard to tell from the photo how big they really are, but a dessert plate would be about right when they are all opened up. It's so cool -- in the morning they are all closed and tall, and by the afternoon they have opened up fully in the warm sunshine.
I am hoping to make a card tomorrow inspired by these bright parrot tulips. Today I am at work and also busy marking things off my list -- it is so long -- and Ireland is only a few days away (see my giraffe counter in the sidebar?). For those that don't know, I will be leaving on Friday (EARLY) to travel to Ireland for 11 days with the high school choir. My daughter is also going. Tonight is the last rehearsal before we go. So much to do! Two more days of school left and then I can concentrate on the trip!
Thank you for all your lovely comments about the lilacs - I am thankful that the fragrance doesn't affect me as it does some of you. We are enjoying them so much and I know the blooms will be gone when I return from Ireland. Here is another peek at some blossoms:
