Isn't she adorable?? She is 5 months old and her name is Fiona, which is of Gaelic origin (remember, I loved Ireland?), and means "white, fair and beautiful one." I think she is all those things. She is also a little pill! We haven't had a puppy for over 4 years and I had forgotten what it is like!! She follows me everywhere and had to already learn NOT to put wood mounted stamps in her mouth to chew on!
She is a yellow lab mix and has the sweetest disposition. She is very smart, and learned two commands in two days. My Lucy (see sidebar) is slowly getting used to her, and is realizing she is now the "oldest, wisest, and BOSS!" We went to the Central Nebraska Humane Society to get Fiona. A rescue!!
My next birthday present was to stamp! Surprise! :)
I used the beautiful "Cross of Christ" set again by Our Daily Bread Designs. This verse is Hebrews 12:2a. I really like how versatile and beautiful this set is. You can order it as of today!
My daughter is coming home today after being gone a week to North Carolina with her brother. Another great birthday gift! She knows about Fiona, and has seen pictures, but will love meeting her in person. So I am off to bake a chocolate "Welcome Home" cake for her -- and maybe I will have a piece too! What a beautiful looking dog. I was sorry to read that one of your pets just died - it's so hard seeing them get older and weaker and knowing the end isn't far off. But Fiona looks as if she'll keep you busy. She looks as if she hasn't finished growing, either!!

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Judy! Rescued animals make the best pets--they seem to be so appreciative. We had a black lab for 17 years that we found at a local shelter when she was 9 months, plus many cats over the years that were equally loving and long lasting. Enjoy!
