Lots of fun stuff today and a chance to help someone in need!
For today's SCS Sketch Challenge, I used the ever-fun dancing candles (#0317) from Hambo Stamps. These four individual stamps are delightful and just make me want to dance and have a party!
I stamped each candle in Palette Noir Black Ink, and then colored them using my Stampin' Up! markers. Inbetween colors I generously dabbed Crystal Stickles (I love that stuff!), which the photo of course doesn't want to show! Imagine, if you will, glittery columns of dancing fun! I have had this Slab DP for a long time, and decided it was a good background for the candles. I used my Photo Corner Punch for a corner accent, using Pale Plum and a piece of the blue Slab DP. I found the gold star brads in a drawer of "What is all this stuff?" and added them, along with the square brads. Got out some funky fibers and attached it with another star brad, and these little guys are ready to wish someone a special day!
Stamps: Hambo Stamps
Paper: Bashful Blue, River Rock, Pale Plum, Naturals White, Slab DP
Ink: Copic Marker C-1, Palette Noir Black, Yoyo Yellow, Almost Amethyst, Pretty in Pink, Bliss Blue, Mellow Moss
Accessories: Crystal Stickles, funky fibers, gold star and square brads, photo corner punch, dimensionals
Over at the Hambo blog, Monica posted about a friend's father, who is in need of a special wheelchair van. Monica and Tim are donating 15% of all Hambo sales in July toward this cause! Isn't that awesome?? Please take a moment to read her post, and then hop on over and order some fun stuff at the website!!
July's edition of Sheetloads of Cards is out! You won't want to miss this fun "Christmas in July" issue! Get a head start!
Dawn Marie over at Dawn's Special Creations gave me a fun award yesterday:
Thank you so much!! I will be sharing this and passing it along to some other blogging friends later today or tomorrow!
I am working on a project that Sue over at StampnDaly sent me and hope to post that tomorrow as well!
On a personal note, thank you for all the prayers for my dad and my little beagle. My dad is improving daily in in-patient rehab! My little beagle will probably be frolicking and running with all my other dogs that have left this world by early next week. :( She has continued to lose weight and I am needing to carry her most places. We don't want to prolong her suffering (she sleeps most of the day and is not in pain, as she has pain meds), but would like to wait until my daughter and son go to North Carolina on Sunday. But we may need to do something before then and will see how today goes~
On a lighter note, LOTS of news at Stampin' Up! The new Stampin' Up! Decor Elements are now available for purchase! I have ordered three and am excited to get them! Contact me if you are interested in placing an order or in seeing the new line (brochure cover in sidebar).
All stamp sets that are new to the Fall-Winter 2008 catalog will be die-cut. No more trimming, no more uneven edges. Just punch out the rubber image, place it on the wood block, attach the sticker and you are good to go!
Demonstrators saw a sneak peek of some of the new sets, including hostess sets, some fun new embellishments, Designer Series Paper and a new Scalloped Edge Punch!!!
Several of the new hostess sets will be available in both English and Spanish.
Finally, a great Hodgepodge Hardware promo!
All Hodgepodge Hardware finishes in the current catalog are being offered at a special 25 percent discount from July 1 through August 10 (or while supplies last - so order now!). So lots of fun stuff there! Email me at lidaroseroz@gmail.com if you are interested in any of the Stampin' Up! products!
