I think this card's sentiment is perfect for the New Year! "Encourage your hopes, not your fears."
Wouldn't life be disheartening without hope? We hope we will lose weight, find a new job, stamp something pretty, be liked. We hope our children will make friends at school, that our new recipe turns out, that we have enough money, that we can zip up the jeans. We hope we can keep our mouths closed when we should and that we will have the courage to stand up for something when it's right. We hope for a cure for cancer, hope that the wars will end, hope that our family is safe, and hope that we can sleep well tonight.
