On the home front, my son had an emergency root canal this morning and it went very well. Just got off the phone with him and he is doing much better. I am super happy that I will get to take a road trip at the end of May and drive from Indianapolis to North Carolina -- solo! I am pretty excited about it, as it will be fun to explore new places in the east along the way. If I see a little shop, I can just stop! Or a cafe, or take pictures of anything I want!
My daughter had her acting final yesterday for college, and said it went awesome! She loves it where she is, and I am so thankful. She is taking some summer classes, which start May 14, so won't be able to come home, but we are heading out there as soon as my school year is over. Yay!
I think I am excited about this summer, because as soon as I got out of school last year, I had the carpal tunnel surgery on my left hand and elbow and was pretty much incapacitated as far as stamping goes, for about a month. I need to do the right side, but not this summer! :)
I will be performing in a production of "Into the Woods," playing Cinderella's mother (not step-mother!) - a nice, small part that won't keep me too busy to stamp, but enough in a show to have a great time!
More on that later this summer.
And now, for today's creation:
I made this for the two challenges at Splitcoast yesterday: Technique Challenge 374: Stamping Nostalgia and Clean and Simple Challenge 167: At the Zoo. . .
I couldn't pass up using one of my favorite giraffe stamps I have had forever! My sister gave it to me one year for my birthday. I love how primitive it looks, but how much life and movement it shows.
For the TLC we were limited with what we could use -- nothing modern such as dies, embossing folders, or an abundance of patterns and ribbons..... I cut the border with pinking shears, used one piece of patterned paper, pierced the edge, and added a little ribbon. Didn't break any challenge rules!
The CAS challenge was perfect for me - I have so many giraffe images I could have chosen, but was happy with how this turned out!
Thanks for taking a peek!
Come back tomorrow for more stamping news, and a spotlight on Rubber Stamp Tapestry!
