Pansy Parade

I adore pansies. They are so sweet and hardy! They do well in Nebraska - even with the wind and cool temperatures that surprise us some days.  Rubber Stamp Tapestry has a beautiful new set called Color Me Happy that is perfect for your paper pansy gardens. It is also designed to stamp beautiful on ceramic and fabric too!

My color choices came from my friend, Joan, for her challenge at the Color Throwdown blog this week: Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip, Lavender Lace and So Saffron.

I stamped the Bitty Square Swirl in Certainly Celery as a corner border, and then filled in with the Mini Flower in Studio G black pigment ink (which, by the way, I will not be using very frequently -- much messier than my other pigment inks). I embossed the flowers with Clear Embossing Powder and then finished stamping with the Tiny Flower in Lavender Lace, the Mini Leaf in Certainly Celery and the Bitty Sprig in So Saffron.

The sentiment (Thank You Block Stamp - also by Rubber Stamp Tapestry) was stamped with Chocolate Chip ink. I added some Champagne pearls to the Tiny Flower centers. The scalloped border was made with my Slit Punch and is from the Madeline Collection by Prima.

The centers of the Mini Flowers were colored with a BV02 Copic Marker and lined with a Copic 0.3 Black Multiliner. I love how you can make whatever color and design in the middle of the flowers that you want!
