Freshly Made Sketches #492

Happy Wednesday! It's time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. Cécile is our hostess for this week. She has such amazing style!

I love square cards, and used to make them so much more often than I have lately. So today's sketch was a lot of fun -- and easy!

I chose my sentiment first -- one of the sweet stamps from Paper Smooches' Group Hugs stamp set (retired). It has wonderful sentiments, and is one of my favorite sets for sending love through the mail. Next, I die cut my leaves (SSS) from alcohol ink patterned paper (Craft Consortium), and then added a few sequins (Picket Fence Studios) for interest. A little company mash up!

I hope you will join our sketch challenge this week, and add your creations to our gallery! This challenge will end at 3:00 EDT time on Monday, July 5.

All of my products are from the Love Letters Kit from Queen and Company. I love little shaker cards, and this little envelope of red, silver, and gold love is the perfect pick-me-up for anyone needed some extra love! I love the colors of the patterned paper too!

I hope you will join us for this challenge and link up on the Festive Friday blog. Remember, you can choose any three from the list below, for any occasion or theme! The challenge is open until Monday, July 5.

Freshly Made Sketches #491

Happy Wednesday! It's time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. The very talented Kim is our hostess this week.

This week's sketch was the perfect time to pull out some of the MANY 6x6 paper pads I hoard and use some fun patterns. I chose the Honeybee Stamps' The Bee's Knees for my four panels and offset them a little from each other instead of equally spaced. I added a flower die from Altenew's Floral Doodles set and the Smile sentiment from Honeybee. A few sequins for bling!

I hope you will join our sketch challenge this week, and add your creations to our gallery! This challenge will end at 3:00 EDT time on Monday, June 28.

RAWR! Festive Friday #0086

Today there is a new challenge up at Festive FridayIf you are new to the FF Challenges, you can choose any three items (or more!) from our list to inspire your creativity. For my card this week, I chose hearts, brads and blue.

I started with a Wrinkled Distress Technique background using Twisted Citron Distress Ink. I then stamped my images from this adorable CTMH stamp set (RAWR Means I Love You in Dinosaur) using various colors of ink from Scrapbook.com. I thought it made a cute Father's Day card for my grandsons to give! I popped up my dino with foam tape, added a brad for the heart speech bubble, and had to have some sparkly sequins! The dotted background is a patterned paper.

I hope you will join us for this challenge and link up on the Festive Friday blog. Remember, you can choose any three from the list below, for any occasion or theme! The challenge is open until Monday, June 21.

Freshly Made Sketches #489

Happy Wednesday! It's time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. The very talented Linda is our hostess this week.

Last week I went a little rogue with my sketch, so this week I stayed pretty true. I used Bokeh Dots by Julie Ebersole for Ellen Hutson, with a sentiment from Papertrey Ink.
Sometimes I challenge myself to use particular supplies on my DT samples, and this week the challenge was to use all the inks on my desk that I hadn't put away. So - a very colorful and modern looking design came forth!

I embossed the black card base with a Cuttlebug embossing folder - also dots!

I hope you will join our sketch challenge this week, and add your creations to our gallery! This challenge will end at 3:00 EDT time on Monday, June 14. Be sure to take a peek at what my teammates have made on the FMS blog

Spellbinders Heart Swans

Have you seen the new Truly Yours Collection from Spellbinders? Today I am sharing a card made with the new Heart Swans Etched Dies. They are simply gorgeous! Ten dies, including facing swans, flowers, and leaves!

I think black swans are so unique and beautiful. My swan's wing is lined with silver metallic cardstock (CutCardStock) to match the leaves and sentiment (Spring Flutter - Small Die of the Month). I cut out all of my dies first, and arranged them on the Oval 2 from the Elliptical Ovals Etched Dies (also new from Truly Yours!).

I popped up some of the flowers, and the swan. Don't you love that little sparkly crown? The sentiment is cut three times, and stacked up for dimension. The starry holographic patterned paper (The Paper Studio) was the perfect background to show off the dies!

Be sure to check out the rest of the Truly Yours Collection - it's beautiful!

Freshly Made Sketches #488

Happy Wednesday! It's time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. The very talented Jen M is our hostess this week.

I took a few liberties with the sketch this week, but hopefully you can see the resemblance. Ha!

It's rare that I don't have some kind of sentiment or word die on the front of my cards. But today, I wanted a simple and elegant design without either of those things.

I used the new Cameo Etched Dies from the Truly Yours Collection from Spellbinders Paper Arts. I cut the Laurel Frame, flowers, and leaves from a watercolored panel, and the Cameo Silhouette from Crumb Cake (SU!) cardstock. I added a rhinestone (Kaiser) to the flower in her hair.

I hope you will join our sketch challenge this week, and add your creations to our gallery! This challenge will end at 3:00 EDT time on Monday, June 7.
