Freshly Made Sketches #422

It's Wednesday, and that means a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! Today's hostess is Linda. My FMS teamies made so many different kinds of designs, I think you are going to enjoy this sketch. Lots of possibilities!

I have been blessed to be on many design teams over the years. But my very first one will always hold a special place in my heart, and I still love their images. So for this week's sketch, I have chosen the MIME clear stamp set from Hambo Stamps. It's the perfect valentine for this theater girl. You can find the entire set HERE.

I stamped with Altenew's Black ink, and then colored with my Copics. Red is always scary for me, because it's hard to fix a mistake! Once I had finished, I overstamped with VersaFine Clair Nocturne for a sharper look. I added some white mini ric rac down the side.

I hope you will join us with your take on the sketch this week! Our challenge is open until 3 PM EST on Monday, February 17. Click on the links on the FMS blog by each photo to see what lovely things my teammates have created on their blogs!

Birds of a Different Feather

Today I am sharing two creations with products from Picket Fence Studios - both birds, and both very different!

The first is a watercolored background with the new Peacock Beauty die. It's a full cover plate with so many possibilities for design. I used Hammermill White CS for the cover, and it cut perfectly!

Next up is the stamp set, Beauty and Song -- a beautiful floral and bird image with sentiments. I blended a background using my Life Changing Blender Brushes and three Distress Oxide Inks, then embossed with White EP from WOW! The sentiment is stamped with VersaFine Clair Nocturne. I used Curious Metallic CS from CutCardStock for the card base.

Sweet Flowers for Picking

Today I am sharing a one of the new stamp sets from the January Creativation Release for Picket Fence Studios. What a fabulous release! I hope you have had a chance to check it out. If not, any of the stamp links below my post will take you there!

For this card I used the adorable FLOWERS FOR PICKING. Now, if you look through my work, you won't see a lot of flower images. I love them, I just don't usually stamp with them for some reason. But these are so cute and fun to color.

I made a monochrome card using a favorite color family, and colored the flowers with my alcohol markers. Then I cut them out using the coordinating dies, and made a round card. I had a scrap of patterned paper that matched, and added a sentiment from the previously released BECAUSE.

And because we all like sparkle without the mess, I added some shimmer with my Glitter Pen to all the flower centers. The card base is my favorite shimmery silver cardstock from CutCardStock (Curious Metallic Ice Silver).

These flowers make such a sweet greeting!

Freshly Made Sketches #421

It's Wednesday, and that means a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! Today's hostess is Jen M. with a classic circle and square combination.

For such a seemingly easy sketch, I had a hard time deciding what to do. I think because it's such a great sketch, I had too many ideas. But I finally went with this cute Waffle Lot set from Technique Tuesday. I had not had the chance to ink it up, and I have had it awhile, so it was a good choice!

I colored the waffle with Copics, and being in a hurry, was squeezing too hard and had dark brown ink blobs in places I didn't want them. So -- rather than starting over, I just made do with a waffle that is darkly cooked! I then cut it out so I could pop it up on my dry embossed background. The sentiment was cut with a wonky stitched frame, and also popped up. I added a few hearts to complete the sketch.

I hope you will join us with your take on the sketch this week! Our challenge is open until 3 PM EST on Monday, February 10. Click on the links on the FMS blog by each photo to see what lovely things my teammates have created on their blogs!
